Re: The games you can't play, literally
I have heard extremely good things about Let's go Jungle (or the sequels) and it's apparently a pretty good money-earner for arcades. My shitty arcade had one so the cabinet must be in another location, I may try to look for it.

Ibara Kuro
Cave ordered a C&D for any SH3-based emulation of their games, so MAME is out of the question.
I love Ibara, and I have always wanted to try this one out, but the board alone runs in the $1k range, and that seems to be the only way to play it.
Lets hope that Cave will end up doing a proper port of Ibara, and include Ibara Kuro. It seems unlikely though, as the C&D was more likely to prevent people from emulating Mushihimesama and its recent 1.5 pcb release, since that is now coming out for the 360 in Japan.
Oh, and Dodonpachi Sai Dai Ou Jou, which is not even out in arcades yet. Definitely can't play that one.

Not that i cant play, but rather annoyed is FPS. I can play about 2 hour maxed before i get really tired and annoyed by the noise of guns shooting, explosion, etc....

^I have a slightly similar case. I love playing games like Batman Arkham City, Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, Assasin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Prototype because I like to explore through the rooftops and jump from building to building, but after an hour or so I get nauseous. I'm afraid to even try Mirror's Edge.

Although technically playable, SegaSonic the hedgehog is a disaster without that darn spinning ball that you see in old golf and bowling arcade games.

Now that you mention it, I remember feeling exactly the same way playing Faceball 2000 way back on the SNES. Though I can't say for sure whether it was the because of the field of view or just the quality of the game.sabrage wrote:Any game with a really narrow field of view (like the original Resistance or Call of Duty) makes me slightly nauseous and gives me a killer headache.

You can get a trackball for around 25€. A really good price given the awesome games you can play with it.Retronomy wrote:Although technically playable, SegaSonic the hedgehog is a disaster without that darn spinning ball that you see in old golf and bowling arcade games.

Not sure if this is too off-topic....
but there are games that are technically "playable" but impossible to finish because of programming errors. The Commodore 64 version of Rastan and the DOS port of TMNT are examples, both contain pitfalls that are too long, they cannot be jumped over.
