No, no. I'm FAAAAR from any sort of record.

That score doesn't crack the top 20 in the shmups thread:

That last run of mine was on SAT-J, Chaz. Didn't even think it was that solid so didn't even do a screen pic.

I'll be on PCB tonight though.

If you record it and send it to them though it still counts as the official WR, even if its not actually the highest score ever reached.

Competition on certain games is fierce, but a lot of games only have 1 or 2 submissions so I'm seriously thinking about recording some games see if I can get me a TG cert. I checked some of Saturn games that are on there and I reckon a lot of them are easy to take without even being the best player in the world at those games.

Yeah, my high score is in the 500k region on te pcb so far, I was surprised to see a score-keeping site only have scores in the 300k range.

Not that thats bad, its great for everyone thats been playing for a few days now.

Of course, shmups will make us all look like noobs. Probably a bunch of 2-ALLs.

The nice thing is, there is no scoring trick here, so I actually feel like there is progress, unlike Cave, where I feel like there are so many points to get out of stage one, even after practicing it for months.

They keep track of WR's over on shmups, as well as Arcadia, which is what most folks turn to. Gunbird definitely has a much higher WR, and even a much higher Western Record.

I only hold the Western Record for one game, but that will change soon!

Remember, there is no fun in taking the top spot if no one else is playing. Aim high, take down the shmups and arcadia scores!!

Oh wow, only 1 2-ALL on shmups. This is the game to tackle. I'll try to find the Western and WR for us.

Edit: here we go

World: J.G.K-ALL - 2.342.600 - ALL - Valnus
West: saucykobold - 1.410.300 - ALL - Yuan Nang

WTF, that is a huge difference. Are the points from lives kept? Damn.

600k extend was a joke, right Chaz? Cuz I thought 400k was the extend.

Ha ha yeah. There is a DIP switch setting to change the extends to 600k, but the defaults are 400k

Its kinda evil, those are the only 2 settings. So, basically, if you want to screw people out of coin even more, you can put that extend further back

Ummm.... nope  Like, the old move King of Kong?

Having not heard ot TG, and having either not seen that movie in a long time, or possibly never, I am so confused as to how these could relate to each other

Wow... being a self-proclaimed "score-chaser", I feel like a total derp having not heard of this.

it looks amazing!

I must look more into this.

However, I would only consider them TG records, not World Records... unless it actually is a WR.

NTSC-J does a really nice job of spotting any scores that are potential WR breakers, and usually lets you know if you are close (on shmups), which is the only reason I even have a Western Record.
