Agreed.

I plan to redo the thermal paste when my PS3 starts getting warm. For now though it's been running extremely cool. Fans don't kick up speed at all on the XMB and only ever hit level 2 when playing Gran Turismo 5 and PS1 games.

If people treat it less like an SNES and more like a gaming PC, I don't see any reason why this gen. of consoles can't last a good long while. All it takes is a can of compressed air every other week. I mean, these PS3s are already pushing 7 years. I think they'll go another 7 relatively easily if they haven't already bitten the dust yet.

My PS3 had the YLOD about 6 times already. On thing I can tell you for sure is that if you got the YLOD for overheating once you get it again and again no matter what you do to it. I have the 60Gb Fat PS3 my friends have the same (same problem with their PS3) and I've discovered that high quality compound, the potentiometer fan mod and a Blu-Ray Player helps the PS3 from YLODing again for a long period of time. Also playing the system for shorter periods of time. Its best to get an newer PS3 instead but I love my PS3, PS2 and PS1 all in one to much so I keep fixing it over and over.
