We usually give a thread a pretty decent amount of rope to hang itself before we lock. It's better when everyone goes 'yep, that was coming'.
That said...man, there have been some silly ass threads lately!
I'm glad that particular threads are being locked. For that exact reason Flake pointed out on the last line. I hit view new posts to find new threads that have been quite like not what I have been seeing in the 6 months I've been here
