Enjoyable 3D platformers
Re: Enjoyable 3D platformers
Yes, I played through the three Spyro games, for the first time, over the past year and they are wonderful.
Selling half my NES/SNES/PS1 collection (ending Dec 1):

Recently beat Pac-Man World 2. It was pretty good overall, some levels were kinda tedious, but much better game than I thought. You never really hear this game series mentioned among the other platformers. You can get it cheap now so its worth checking out.

I remember reading a review for that and the reviewer gave it a pretty good score. I was surprised because I would not think that it would get a good score.

Is it anything like the first one PS1? It had quite a bit of pretty restricted 3D and 2D parts in it so it did feel a bit like Crash at timesAuron_Amarth wrote:Recently beat Pac-Man World 2. Can definitely agree with you on that!Zing wrote:Yes, I played through the three Spyro games, for the first time, over the past year and they are wonderful.
@Menegrothx there's a code out there to play an extra level taken out of the full release of Crash which is basically a harder Slippery Climb; have you tried it? There's also a beta Crash out there too apparently with unfinished levels.
You might want to try seeing if there are any indie games out there that fit into the 2.5D and "run into the screen" type of mold... also be careful you don't run out of these type of games to play by playing them all at once btw if that's what you crave!
I also heard Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers fits the type of the game you are looking for but I do not know how "hard" it is as I never played it.

Quackers was relatively difficult if I remember correctly. Didn't really care for it as a kid but I remember it being solid.dogman91 wrote:Can definitely agree with you on that!Zing wrote:Yes, I played through the three Spyro games, for the first time, over the past year and they are wonderful.Such a great relaxing and atmospheric game... really satisfying to breath fire on enemies and watch their crazy animations... and not only that but the music and art style makes the game so "magical".

As far as the Spyro games developed by Insomniac, yes they are amazing. The reason the music is so awesome is because all 3 games had the music composed by Stewart Copeland. For those that don't know, he was the drummer and the founding member of The Police.
