What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Donnie Darko
Good movie, but confusing. I'm not sure what the point was.

The teaser for a teaser of the teaser trailer is up.

I'm torn at whether I enjoyed CABIN or THIS IS 40 more. Either way, go see both.

Stainless Steel Rat has a pretty good write-up on the film. I'll write a short explanation..
Donnie is awoken by Frank the Rabbit to prevent him from being killed by the Jet engine that falls. There is no source for this engine, it just *happens*, so it becomes the source/reason for a disruption in time. Because of this disruption, a tangent/alternate universe is created, but can only last for 28 or so days, otherwise it will collapse in on itself and destroy the prime universe along with it.

Frank then leads Donnie through a series of events that will set up a 'fix' for the time disruption. Everything ends up getting connected. The pedophile is arrested, who in turn is worshipped by that teacher, who is the coach for Sparkle Motion. When the coach stays to support the pedophile in court, Donnie's mom and sister Sam head out to the competition. (not sure where the dad goes). This enables Donnie and his older Sister to have a party, at which Donnie and Gretchen are implied to have sex (and 'connect'). Once this happens, they go to talk to Grandma Death, where the still-alive Frank (not Rabbit Frank) accidentally runs over and kills Gretchen. This saddens Donnie and he realizes that he needs to fix the timeline, so he uses telekinesis to rip the engine off of the jet and send it back in time 28 days, thusly giving it a 'reason to exist', and not creating a time disruption. Donnie realizes that he's finally happy and he doesn't have to get out of the way of the engine falling. He saves everyone and the universe. After this, everyone that interacted with him in the tangent universe has a DejaVu feeling about what happened in the tangent universe.
I could be remembering few things wrong, it's been a while since I watched it. but check out SSR's write-up on it, and maybe play the game on the website. It will help a little too.

30 Minutes or Less

Not nearly as bad as I have heard, and for some reason, I can actually see that happening. It makes it that much more lovable for me. I have no idea why this movie didn't stay in people's minds longer.

I like it.

Super didn't click for me either. I enjoyed it, and would probably watch it again sometime, and would even recommend that other people watch it. But something was missing for me and I can't say exactly what it was. I also felt that it was 100% different than kickass, but I can't figure out exactly why that is either. When I describe the two movies I feel like I'm describing the same one, but. . . not.

THIS. Exactly how I felt. It's like if Kickass went.... even more insane. I guess. With a wrench!

It had a few funny parts. My favorite part was with Nick Swardson "fixing the banister" lol.

30 Minutes or Less' ending was annoying ... primarily because they chopped off the actual ending and made it a deleted scene for some reason.

Yes, yes, yes.

Very important edit*

This is how you restore a movie for the digital age. No extra CGI, no digital film reconstructs, no extra cut dialogue added back in, and no intention of changing anything other than giving fans of the original what they want but on a better format.

If only ET was treated the same way.
