As one of the three living fans of the 32X on the planet, I can still recommend that you should probably get a Sega CD first. The 32X does have some games worth playing, but it won't blow you away and there are some titles on the Sega CD I'd love to play (Popful Mail comes to mind).

Well I might have been a little optimistic with the "3" estimate. However, I'm fairly certain my brother is a fan of the 32X, so perhaps our numbers are still strong.

I like the 32X. I've got a copy of the Sega CD/32X Night Trap, too, which I guess puts me in both camps.

i love the 32x but i just feel its better to emulate due to it having so few titles which are worth playing, i did like however, how the 32x cleans up the genesis video signal quite good.

Well, honestly, the 32X wasn't an entirely bad idea, it was just never exploited very well. Given the small library and the even much smaller library of 32X games that actually make meaningful use of its abilities it's no wonder it gets panned. But the gems that are some of the better exclusive 32X games that do exist make it worthwhile to get.

The Sega CD, however, offers a much broader opportunity for game collection expansion.

Of course, a Genesis/Sega CD/32X combination is the best way to go all around!

and though many say its bad, how bad could it really be considering how many sold at launch (well then again werent most thrown away or traded in)

as someone who has owned both, I can easily say the sega cd will give you much more value. The must play games have already been mentioned, and as some have also mentioned some of the early FMV games (Night Trap, Tomcat Ally, Sewer Shark) are pretty fun and a nice historic piece of gaming history.

Sega cd is better but nobody said anything about the saturn how weird! My suggestion get the saturn first you'll love it, then go for the sega cd next and 32x last just for completeness.

I'm honestly a bigger fan of the Sega CD than the Saturn, overall.
