Not surprising, at one GS I go to on occasion the Gamecube section is gone, and the games are on some cart. Also I think all Gamecube games are 30% off or something, they're probably trying to get rid of them.

That's how it seems to be at the various gamestops around here too (Lansing, MI area). Very few Gamecube games, on a single rack, usually hard to find. But, the prices of the games are still inflated. I wish they would make up their mind to truly get rid of the games if that's what they're doing. There are still a number I'd like to get, if the price ever went down.

I think the gamecube might eventually become the most collectable of the xbox,ps2, or gamecube, or at least gamecube games might become so (whether they're played on Wiis with wavebirds or on the original cube). Lots of original games, the best RE4 version, Nintendo-only titles, some creative peripheral games (odama, donkey kong jungle beat).

i agree about the price inflation at gs.

i go there every now and then to see if they put on any special on the gc games. they sometimes have them on a rack in the back, hidden somewhere, or sometime they leave them in the middle of the store.

seriously, the prices there are ridiculous sometimes. its like they have no idea on what to do. tell me, have you seen a store where one product has 3 different prices???!

the gs by my area has Super Smash Bros Melee for $39.99, $35.99, and $26.99... all used... all in the same crappy condition... all with three different prices.
I'm back!

Funny the Cube is mentioned... I just got Cubivore, Smash Bros for $10 each, and Soul Calibur II for $8, all CIB, in near perfect condition today when my local store almost never has anything for the Cube. The best part was that there was a 251 memory card inside the Smash Bros case! Just lucky I s'pose. And since I've played it and I'm not really into it, I'm gonna sell Smash Bros to pay for SCII and Cubivore so it's like getting 2 free games. :D

Cubivore is a great game. I'll admit I wasn't into Smash Bros at first but if you've got a friend to play with and devote some serious time to the game it gets a lot better. I was never able to enjoy it by myself though. Coincidentally, I played Brawl and just didn't enjoy it as much as Melee. Anyway, good find and enjoy Cubivore.

I've played SSBM with friends occasionally, rather, rarely and I always get my ass handed to me. There's no one I know that is on the beginner level so it's not really fun always losing... I'd rather bust out SF2:T ;)
And I'm actually pretty excited to play Cubivore... But I'm moving in a few days so that's gotta wait a bit.

So, how much should I hold out for on SSBM? I was offered $25 for it... Seems good.

I'd say $25 is definitely good. As for the skill-gap on SSBM, I can definitely attest to that. Fortunately my friend and I essentially started playing it at the same time and continued to play an unhealthy ammount for the year we lived together. Shortly after that we tried to introduce another friend to the game and he just didn't have any fun b/c of the skill-gap. I suppose that's a problem with all games but SSBM in particular may suffer more from it.

(Note: in no way am I boasting or suggesting that I'm good at SSBM or any other game, and in fact I'm quite terrible at video games--I just enjoy playing them)
