It's like every damn mission.
They are kind of the main enemy in the game. Don't expect it to change much.
It just seems....excessive. The collectors were the main enemy of ME 2, but you only really had to deal with them in three main missions.

It's worth noting that my favorite mission so far (the Tuchanka mission with the Genophage) didn't involve Cerberus at all. The fact is, I don't care about Cerberus and the game just keeps shoving them down your throat.

exactly, they should have based how they designed the rest of the game off of the Tuchanka mission.

Just found another bug. I'm doing that side quest on citadel where you take pictures for a documentary for that Salarian. I did a few other things while I was in the area and now no more picture taking prompts are coming up. There was one I remember seeing before I got sidetracked with something else. It was by the area where James is playing poker. Now the prompt doesn't show at all. Guess I have to reload an earlier save

Most bugs of any Bioware game I've ever played. This one's really letting me down. Not the Mass Effect 3 that I wanted

I had a similar bug with a mission to wiretap a suspected indoctrinated person. I had missed a piece of dialog that told me to go to other parts of the station, then when I left the quest fully bugged; I'd see where to go on my map but no prompt and by this time I'd already done a few planet quests and couldn't reload an earlier save.

Yeah, I had another weird one a little while ago when I started Jacob's mission. He was talking to Garrus and it's like Garrus was completely invisible. Weird. ME 3 is bug city.

So I'm working through that Jacob mission right now, and it's exactly like the fifty other Cerberus missions I've been on. Guys arriving in shuttles, lots of grenades, wussy engineers hiding behind turrets, and I'm half expecting a giant mech to show up like you see in most Cerberus fights. Yawn. Cerberus really hurts this game A LOT. Every Cerberus encounter makes me feel like I'm playing a generic shooter that's NOT Mass Effect. Cerberus thugs are just nameless, faceless human guys who look like they'd fit just fine in any other shooter on the market. They're not even as interesting as the different mercenary groups you fought in Mass Effect 2. I'm sure these guys can get a job in the next Call of Duty or Uncharted game. Again, yawn.

At least Samara's mission let me fight something new and was a little different. Banshees are pretty cool and I want to fight more of them. This is the sort of thing I WANT to fight, along with other reaper mutations, new aliens (like the Yahg maybe), killer giant bugs, interesting merc gangs with different races and abilities at their disposal, Thrasher Maws, etc. Anything that's not generic, human Cerberus thugs. I loved seeing Samara too. She is a fantastic character. Hope I run into her again at some point

Random thoughts

So like, I get that Bioware wanted to make their games appealing to gay people, but it's another one of those things that is done a bit awkwardly. First of all, my Shepherd just started a conversation with Kaiden, and out of no where he asks Kaiden if he is flirting with him. That's just....weird. My Shep is in a relationship with Liara and romanced Kelly Chambers as well in the last game, not to mention tipping asari dancers in clubs in each game. I was very careful to avoid any mixed signals with Cortez, including clearly pointing out that Shep likes girls at the Purgatory club, and then Shepherd just spits this line out to Kaiden. Weird. and then Kaiden acts like he's interested, weird. Hello Bioware, I'm not playing as fem Shepherd. Can't a dude just have a normal conversation with another dude? I kind of don't want to talk to Kaiden anymore. I don't like watching him and Shepherd flirt when there's no reason at all that they should be. Reminds me of how it was impossible to have a friendly relationship with Jack in ME 2 unless you were trying to romance her. Just odd how the games try to force these things on you.

Then you have Traynor talking about how sexy Edi's voice is, then tells Diana later on that she's hot. It's like, okay Bioware, I get it. She's gay. Don't have to make her hit on every single female on the crew. It's called subtlety for crying out loud. I think they did the best job with Cortez, it's pretty obvious how to avoid sending him signals, and he doesn't awkwardly hit on Shepherd if you don't. You can actually pursue a nice, normal, friendly relationship with the guy - minus the awkward dialog that you get talking with Kaiden.

I love that Traynor has uncovered some key missions for Shepherd. Makes her seem more useful than Kelly Chambers, who never felt like anything more than a glorified secretary in Mass Effect 2. I mean, I liked her. I liked her a lot in fact, but she was completely useless. Hi Shepherd, checked your messages for you, not like you could actually do that yourself. Supposedly she was checking on the mental and emotional health of the crew, but that felt so tacked on. It never mattered at all in the story

It's nice that Bioware can at least acknowledge how bug heavy their games are (though it'd be nicer if they could do something about it). Conrad Verner had a funny line where he told my Shepherd he didn't know why he thought Shep pulled a gun on him in ME 1. That's actually a reference to a bug involving him in ME 2 that affected a lot of players.

Lauged at James and Cortez arguing the merits of the Mako vs the Hammerhead. I wish I could have sided with James. The Hammerhead sucked.

Kaiden is worthless. It's completely obvious the main intention for "that" character was to be female, Ashley. Bioware shouldn't have made them a weird merged character throughout the series.

Cortez was boring as hell. That's all I have to say about him.

My friend said it best, the human crew characters in the series pretty much suck compared to the aliens.

I'll agree Traynor was an upgrade over Kelly though. And sexual preferences aside, as a male Shepard I still felt like I built up a good friendship with her.

Looks like Bioware has finally said something. They are going to add some cut-scenes to help explain things after you have made you choice  . Too bad the nonsensical end is still there. NO changes to the end.

This will be the last game I will ever purchase new from them again. I usually do not support used games but they deserve it after this train wreck.
