You can have 175-200% recharge time and still carry a couple guns, you just need to pick lightweight models, and use armor that assists with it (Blood Dragon or Inferno).Gamerforlife wrote: Yeah, that's how I'm going through single player, spamming powers. One of the reasons I chose the adept class is because I didn't want to be bothered with the whole weight thing that slows down your cool down on powers. I don't like when rpgs bog you down with worrying about the weight of your equipment. With adepts, you don't need weapons, so I've basically got no weight restrictions and a power recharge time of 200%. I can use powers freely like a freaking jedi, but I'm easily to kill as a drawback. I'm hoping to get some upgrades to help with that. The fact that I don't have to worry about buying/upgrading weapons for Shepherd is really, really, nice. Playing this class is kind of freeing. For the price of being easy to kill, you get a lot of advantages.

Yeah the weight system is pretty cool I think. It's just so much better than being straight up limited to a select few weapons like in ME2.
In multiplayer I usually just use an AR and still get about 140+ recharge. That said I think it'd be hilarious to try out no weapons sometime heh.
@Gamerforlife: Yeah eventually you can get some upgrades for your base stats and stuff, not sure if you've seen that yet in Liara's room on one of the computers.

Looks like I'm about to face the mother of all Thrasher Maws. This should be pretty epic.

I like this stance. The ending itself doesn't change, but we get more explicit answers as to what the fallout from your choice will be. I just hope that there is a way to trigger it without having to do the final level again.Ray Muyzka wrote:We are all incredibly proud of Mass Effect 3 and the work done by Casey Hudson and team. I know, when the salarian told me his/her idea I was actually insulted a bit that the game would even think I would do that. Again shows how good there writing is but seriously I actually like the Krogan as a race. After that I almost did not want the salarian help. Plus if you did take the offer something bad happens to Wrex.Gamerforlife wrote:Another bug I've encountered a lot now is that one that has Shepherd and other characters not looking at each other during dialog scenes. It's really, really awkward. Sometimes funny, but none in a good way.
They really didn't polish up this entry. It's very buggy even by their standards. It actually looks uncomfortable how much Shepherd is stretching his neck during some of those scenes when he's looking away
Oh yeah, total dick. Seriously, wow.ATARI800XLfan wrote:=
after that you will see why I think the Salarian leader is a total dick.

not to be a downer but I do not think this help as much as they think. There will still be massive plot-holes and all the other problems with the ending. I will be hopeful though.Jmustang1968 wrote:They announced free expanded ending DLC for this summer

Yeah, I have been considering giving my adept some good weapons with mods. Thing is, at the moment my health and shields are so weak I don't know that I could stay out of cover long enough to really make use of them. My biotic powers on the other hand, can be used very quickly without exposing my self for too long. My squadmates are actually doing really, really well with the weapons I have given them, so I may not have to really bother with using weapons with my Shepherd. I mean Garrus and James can really tear through things with those particle rifles. Those things look freaking cool by the way. It's like I'm watching a laser just vaporize people.isiolia wrote:

I will say one thing that ME 3 does well. Your squad can really handle itself, and that's coming from someone playing on Insanity on his first run through the game.. They even seem smarter in this installment about using cover and rolling to avoid attacks. Interestingly enough, I've found that even my weaker allies seem to be able to withstand grenade damage better than I can. I like that you can approach and revive people without using medigel, essentially respawning them, but it's further proof that Mass Effect has become more shooter than rpg.
I've noticed that, but I haven't found a lot of them, and the bonuses seem so miniscule compared to the upgrades in Mass Effect 2.Xeogred wrote: @Gamerforlife: Yeah eventually you can get some upgrades for your base stats and stuff, not sure if you've seen that yet in Liara's room on one of the computers.
Yeah, I loved that part. The cure the genophage mission was pretty damn impressive. It didn't play out quite how I expected, but was pretty epic and memorable none the less. I mean I really felt that this was Mass Effect at its best in terms of the writing and just the way the whole story played out. There was a lot of fantastic lines by Wrex and Mordin. The little jaunt through the ruins was very cool because I didn't expect it and it did an effective job of building up an air of mystery and suspense. I had Garrus and Javik with me. I loved the commentary from the two of them. I knew I HAD to bring Javik for this one, because it was a fight against a reaper. I've been basing squad choices on story, which isn't the smartest way to play, but I like hearing certain character's unique dialog, like when I encountered the kid from Project Overlord at Grissom with Edi in my party. Listening to Javik as I played through that Genophage mission just made it seem like he was MEANT to be there. He made it sound like this was his big moment, finally seeing a reaper die and being a part of that, getting his revenge.ATARI800XLfan wrote: bro bump with Wrex/handshake
My only minor complaints about the Genophage mission are that I didn't really face anything new in terms of enemies. I went into that mission expecting some epic boss fight with a reaper, then I thought I'd be fighting the Thrasher Maw. I even thought I'd be facing the Thrasher Maw inside one of those tanks like in Mass Effect 1. Also, I was slightly annoyed by Wrex's flippant comments towards the deaths of his brother and Mordin. He's a Krogan though. That's just their way. I totally revealed the Surian leader's plot and went against it. There was no way I was going to screw Wrex, Grunt and Eve. The three of them are too cool and deserved better. You know throughout that mission I kept thinking, "Damn, Grunt is missing all of this!"

I know, wish all the missions were up to the level of this one. The writing, comments and everything was well like you said there best. Though we did not get to fight the thresher mow it was still cool to see it take down a reaper. Also agree it would have been nice to use Grunt for this mission if we could. Plus the ending. Might have just be me that the ending was very touching, Mordin doing that for the Krogans. To fix a mistake he had made. Even still singing that song till the end. Not leaving though he could have possible made it. At total piece with himself. That is how I want to go, except the explosions of course. Still can't believe the leader of the salarians though. I actually think I slightly hate them now. Always basing decisions off of calculations and what they think will happen. Kind of wish I had the opportunity to tell her/him to go jump off a cliff. It was awesome, darn I just remembered the game ending againGamerforlife wrote:Yeah, I have been considering giving my adept some good weapons with mods.
