so I breezed through a lot of the early levels, but Venice and Philly are kicking my ass goal-wise. I'm trying to focus on Venice right now. I cannot reach that damn secret tape. I'm pretty sure you just gotta build up speed on the roof using those two makeshift quarter pipes, and then launch off the smaller ramp thing to reach the tape, but I just can't quite make it. Ugh. Also, I can't remember which ledge is THEE "Venice Ledge" that I need to tailslide.

uh yeah. I'm an idiot. I gave up on the tape only to realize I was doing it wrong. haha. It's funny, the first few levels came back to me right away, but a lot of the 2nd half stuff is fuzzy in my memory now.

Just started. Blew through the 1st level 100% in about 10 min. I'm gonna go full completion on this one; I can't help it.

So I put this in my dreamcast today, and was excited to play it - a game I loved as a kid, and haven't played since.

At the moment, I wish I'd left it that way. Wow, this game has aged terribly in my opinion. I can't get over how clunky the controls are and how awkward it is to accurately steer you skater compared to later entries. The trick system feels horrible and I could barely stand to play through the first level. It seems i#m alone in this opinion though. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it, but I've not even 100%ed level one and I already feel like I won't be playing through this whole thing this month.

95%'d first area. Everything done but the 75K goal. Highest I managed to reach was 57,000. I abuse the grind tricks way too much  Trying to transfer my sweet Dave Mirra skills over to this.

What is that Special meter? Is it like a super combo meter a la Street Fighter?

The only issue I have with the game is the fact that a scratch in the disc prevents me from not being able to select 6 (half) of the characters without it freezing up as it loads their profiles. This is why I *hate* disc based media  We'll see if it affects the gameplay or my later performance as I progress. Good thing my custom character is looking pretty good on stats.

I'd blame most of that on the Dreamcast controller. haha

How about some of the newer entrys or maybe underground with the free roaming elements?
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.
