Re: The Wrestling Thread
Lesnar's contract stipulates two appearances a month. That's a lot more than I would expect, although I don't know what appearance constitutes (TV or some PR event works?). You figure he's got 2-3 feuds tops and once again his contract expires after next year's Wrestlemania. Will be interesting to see how the NY/NJ crowd (and me - it's in the pseudo backyard where I don't have to fly) shits on him this time.

Eventually WM visitors have to go home, right?sevin0seven wrote:and it begins...Daniel Bryan's "Yes! Yes! Yes!" chant just broke out tonight at the Miami Heat NBA game.
I was a little limited in my time for the trip (four days) but I dropped the ball with not hitting up RAW and the Sixers on Mon/Tues down there (followed by the Marlins opener Wed at the new stadium - which i did check out when i was down there).

Taker/Lesnar at Wrestlemania 29?
Cena/Rock II for the WWE title? Cena's the champ and that's how he's able to get the rematch with the Rock, the Rock wanting a shot at the belt.

Lesnar last match was Wrestlemania 20 in NY, and now his contract expires again in Wrestlemania 29 in NY (de javu?). i remember the crowd didn't react to him well on that event against Goldberg.. it would be interesting who's his opponent gonna be. He mentioned in a few interviews that his dream match would be against Stone Cold.

Lesnar is going to wrestle fairly soon either at Extreme Rules or the ppv in May... as far as 'Mania I can't see how they don't do a Lesnar-Undertaker match? Otherwise what is he really going to do?

I think you're overrating Lesnar a little. I know there's a crapload of hype surrounding him right now, and I realize he was in some great battles in the WWE before. But he wasn't there all that long, and he never rose to the status that Rock or Austin did.Icedawg wrote:Lesnar is going to wrestle fairly soon either at Extreme Rules or the ppv in May... as far as 'Mania I can't see how they don't do a Lesnar-Undertaker match? I think he'd do fine against the likes of Randy Orton, Shaemus, or HHH.

Cool as it would for Rock to be full time, I doubt it. Let's not read too much into what he said like people did before when he made the, "I'll never leave you speech." All he said is he plans to be champ again, nothing more, nothing less.BurningDoom wrote:Brock Lesnar being back is freaking awesome, no doubt. But I'm even more excited about the Rock announcing he's got his sights set on the WWE Title. I really hope there was sincerity behind that statement and he's back on the active roster. But I'm betting it's like the last time he said he was back. We'll see him again just in time for Wrestlemania next year and rarely other than that.
The Daniel Bryan chants have been a surprise to me, but I like it. AJ is perfect as his little sidekick. She's a good example of how to make a good use of one of their divas. I feel genuinely bad for her when he tells her to shut upsevin0seven wrote:and it begins...Daniel Bryan's "Yes! Yes! Yes!" chant just broke out tonight at the Miami Heat NBA game.
Lesner had a MONSTER push, was champion, and had epic showdowns with top guys. Lesner was on the Cena path, would have been the face of the company. Vince was VERY high on him and was pissed when he left. Lesner had some great matches and was really over. They could do some big things with him. Rock, Punk, Orton, etc. Hell, if he gets the same monster push he had before, he could end the streak. Him and Taker already have history. Also, if Lesner was SUPER committed, which I doubt he is, he has the potential to REPLACE Cena and FORCE the Cena heel turn. I'm not saying that's going to happen though. I'm not saying that at all, but frankly, he's far more appealing for the above 12 year old crowd, especially with all the UFC fans out there. If I was Vince, I wouldn't even think twice about replacing Cena with him as top face. I don't think Lesner is dedicated enough for the role though, so I don't see that happening.BurningDoom wrote:

Well, that's in part because they had to change the pacing and result of the match almost last-minute with Goldberg AND Lesnar backing out of the company.sevin0seven wrote:Lesnar last match was Wrestlemania 20 in NY... the crowd didn't react to him well on that event against Goldberg.. it would be interesting who's his opponent gonna be. That, and the NY area is filled with smarks. Vicious ones at that if I remember the Cruiserweight gauntlet match (where they boo'd just about everyone.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I was a bit underwhelmed by the Lesnar return, mostly because I saw Lesnar signs in the crowd and they were chanting Lesnar. I had NO idea he was returning and it kind of ruined it. Regardless, that crowd on Raw was the best I've seen in years. Mainly because it was noticeably older.
With regards to Brock fighting, does his intestine condition he had come into this, as I imagine he can't be the same with taking bumps.
I'm also hoping that as Raw and Smackdown now have the same GM, they will be mixing the feuds across shows more. This can only benefit Smackdown which I rarely watch, yet always tune into Raw. It's like bit by bit, they are bringing everything great about the early 00s era back.
