Re: Downing's SNES-001 Advanced
Any plans on selling these? Once I'd get the money, it would easily warrant a $150-200+ purchase!
Re: Downing's SNES-001 Advanced
Because it will come out first, have tons of great titles at launch, and not be awkward to use? I say that beats out most system launches period. (Remember when Amazon sold more used SNES units than PS3's? I smell that happening again.)Opa Opa wrote:This is like what the WiiU is going to be like... except this is better.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.

Ideally it would be nice to sell these at that cost, but honestly it cost me more than that I parts alone.GameMasterGuy wrote:Any plans on selling these? Once I'd get the money, it would easily warrant a $150-200+ purchase!
Snes w/2 controllers is about $60 alone. Two screens is about $40. Plastic and wood for controller shell and mold is about $20 and all the other misc costs like spray paint, wires, solder and extra cable, this project cost about $180 out of pocket and that doesn't even include the 20 hours I've got into the project already and I'll another 20 before its done.
So yes, I do plan to sell but like any one-off project, they are going to be expensive. Unless I could take it to market which wouldn't happen for a number of reasons, custom hardware like this is going to unfortunately remain pricey. It's the time. If I sold for $200 ill have made $.50 an hour and that simply will not do. Hehe.

Re: Downing's SNES-001 Advanced
Got the second controller case formed and laid out yesterday. Hopefully over the next few days I'll have a lot of time to make a lot of progress. Still waiting for the screen and a few other parts, but I should be able to get the painting of the controllers done and ready to start wiring.

Not much new, not missing anything. Ran into a few snags that I'm working though with shielded cable and grounding. Gonna have to add a couple attachments to the cable to make work but I've got a plan! We'll see if it pans out.
