Legend of Grimrock
Re: Legend of Grimrock
My PC is too sucky to run it (with no hope except a complete replacement)

Blah, why can't this come to consoles as well? And I'm not talking about PSN or Arcade, I want a physical, tangible copy for my collection!

Re: Legend of Grimrock
My guess is that it is too niche a genre to warrant doing so.. though if it did really well, maybe the sequel would.

You might be right, but I really miss the days where just about any kind of game would hit the shelves and consumers would either buy it or not. That's why so many of the valuable/rare titles of the past are so sought after - I would love to see something similar these days instead of all these "play it safe" titles like CoD and Mario.

On that note, you just know that if this would have come out back in the day, it would have had a sweet box with great artwork, a big fat manual with lots of backstory, and maybe even a pad of graph paper, like Wizardry 7 threw in. I really do miss those days so much.

That sounds great! After thinking back, I remembered I have played The Dark Spire on NDS, minus the fact that that title is turn based, is it more or less the same general genre?ksloth wrote:I hope that you find it very enjoyable and rewarding. I know that for me personally, these games are great at triggering that feeling of wanting to press onwards towards what lies ahead, at substantial risk of bodily dismemberment and fear of the unknown. They are great at making you feel lost and in trouble, and can really get the ol' adrenaline going. Grimrock looks fantastic.
BananaXX's FS/FT Shop!!! +27 feedback and growing!!

I watched some videos, this looks freaking awesome.
Re: Legend of Grimrock
Similar, yes. Games like wizardry and dark spire are typically more of a fight, fight, fight, hide, spell, spell thing, where games like dungeon master and grimrock have more things to physically manipulate due to their mouse cursor. Things like door switches can be used to smack up monsters by trapping the critter in the doorway, secret buttons abound, and you typically have lots of weird items in your inventory that slowly reveal their purpose as the game goes forward.
If that makes sense to you, then I tip my hat in your general direction!

I had an ebay transaction reversed, so I used the extra cash to get myself this. I'm incredibly excited, but I hope the interface is incredibly user-friendly.
