Though as one Website put it Mass Effect is really a movie/story that you create with a game attached. Does anyone else agree? Still love how Tom From Toonami gave it the only unbiased review score of 8.5 and mentioned the ending.Gamerforlife wrote:This could be such a great game if the gameplay wasn't crap. I love telling my Shepherd to use warp and watching him just stand up, removing himself from cover, and doing absolutely NOTHING!
GOD DAMNIT THIS GAME IS BUGGY!!!
Half the time my biotics don't even track their targets![]()
Grrrr, that along with crappy new gameplay changes LIKE THOSE STUPID GODAMM GRENADES AND SHIT COVER SYSTEM!!!
....are starting to annoy me
Anyway, finished that stupid retrieve Krogan female mission. I got some great and funny dialog from Wrex, Garrus and Javik but I am seriously getting sick of ME 3's gameplay already. I'm pretty much ONLY playing the game for the story at this point, which is still fantastic so far. The dialog and character interaction is just stellar.
Less then 66 days until Mass Effect 3 comes out, cant' wait.

An elevator messed up for me once and I fell through the world and died. That's been the only glitch I experienced in 3.dsheinem wrote:I experienced one glitch (I got stuck on a wall) and no real gameplay problems. Seems that I was the exception.

I think I got stuck in the ground once, but it resolved itself before I reloaded.Jmustang1968 wrote:An elevator messed up for me once and I fell through the world and died. I had an event not trigger once - one of the times you needed to have a squad member working on a device while you covered them. I killed all the enemies, and...nothing. Worked after reloading.
Also had one time where the AI bugged out on one squad member so they just spun around or something. I could tell them to move someplace, and they'd go there, and continue to glitch. Might have taken a couple reloads, but it still fixed and I never saw it again (though I only really noticed it because I had to take out a mech and damage was too low without him).
Not terribly bad on the whole, but probably more issues than I had with the previous two.

I dislike the smoke bombs too. It seems like enemies don't even use them tactically. Rather than use them as a way to escape my squad or flank us, they kind of stay in the same area. Sometimes I can even still see an enemy, but the game doesn't let me target him for a biotic attack just because the smoke is in effect. Moments like this are the few times ME 3 feels like an rpg, where you have to accept a power's effect whether it's realistic or not.
What annoys me is that smoke bombs just delay the inevitable. I have to wait for the stupid smoke to clear so I can get back to murdering the idiots who didn't even try and use the smoke bomb to change position....and I'm playing on Insanity. I've had more deaths from bugs or just cheap set ups (enemies drop in on you and there is no nearby cover)then I have from enemies outsmarting me. The game throws waaaay more enemies at me than ME 2, as if to still create a semblance of challenge despite enemies not being stacked with defenses like they were in ME 2, but it just make things repetitive as I continue to slaughter people with biotic detonation combo after biotic detonation combo. BOOM! Dead. BOOM! Dead. BOOM! Dead. BOOM! Dead....
there's still twenty more guys? Yawn.
It's certainly not the worst game I've played from a gameplay perspective, but I'm finding it a step down from ME 2's combat having just finished that game on Insanity before starting this one. Maybe I'll feel differently after I get a couple more hours in. I'm really sick and tired of fighting Cerberus troops at this point. Please god give me a different enemy type. It feels like those damn Cerberus guys are everywhere. I thought I was supposed to be fighting reaper forces.
Cerberus is so lame. It's like we knew they were evil in ME 1, but ME 2 tries to make us think, hey, they're not so bad. I mean, they can't be evil if this hot chick who looks like Yvonne Strahovsky says they're not right? Then you get to ME 3 and it's like, yeah, they are totally evil. I miss compelling villains like Saren, Benezia and Sovereign. ME 1 is soooo much better in that regard. Illusive Man was so easy to see through in ME 2. It's like I didn't even once consider that he wasn't evil. Like I'm supposed to believe he is a good guy even with those creepy eyes that they constantly focused in on in not so subtle fashion in ME 2.

Oh, and did I mention how cheap grenades are. Yeah, I think I did. You know how some shooters FUCKING WARN PLAYERS when a grenade is inbound, like someone saying, "Fire in the hole!", or something to that effect. Your warning in ME 3 is WHEN YOU DIE!
course, it's even more fun when enemies spam 'nades, cause it's not like they have a limit on them or anything....like I do. Spam grenade, force me out of cover, I get full of holes, critical mission failure. Thanks Bioware. I just love staring at loading screens that take eons

There's an indicator of the grenade and its position. I'm not sure how much more warning you need.Gamerforlife wrote:Oh, and did I mention how cheap grenades are. Yeah, I think I did.
