Sega West to Be Diminished; Company's Future in Question
Re: Sega West to Be Diminished; Company's Future in Question
I'm just going to say its pathetic when people claim they don't care about sega and they like them. The yakuza series is as close to a sequel that we will ever get. How many of you ponies up 50-60 big ones for it? Basically nobody. I mean sonic has been brutalized in the last decade, but some of the other games they have made were great.

I mean, there isn't a Sega game out that really gets me excited to play. At least in the last 5 years or so... Sad acuatlly.

Yakuza series is great! its too bad not many people heard of it or even actually gave it a chance. Its a damn shame to see them crumbling slowly.....Arbitern1 wrote:I'm just going to say its pathetic when people claim they don't care about sega and they like them. Wow this sucks...Hopefully a new Sega would come about and possibly in the future they will re-expand...I think one of the problems with Sega has been its leadership or lack off...They dont seem to do to well in promoting their games as well...I think Sega should stick with mostly safe games that appeal to masses in a form that also appeal to the masses..I know this strategy sucks ..but most people just dont get it with Sega and never will...Its kind of like Toyota making bland boring generic looking cars...As oppose to Mazda's more slicker sportier cars...(although lately Mazda has been doing good) Most people will flock to the Camry compared to the flashier Mazda 6...I believe Sega should concentrate on fewer games a year making more high quality games and promoting them much more effectively...Take for example their latest release Binary Domain..I bet 2/3rd of the gamers never even heard of it..It cant seel if no one ever heard of it and not many people will take chances especially this day in age where it seems 3 or 4 titles make up for 50% of the video game sales...Again the Camrys of the video game industry....Sega also has to think of what may sell...While many people clamor for a new Shenmue in practice a new Shenmue would only sell half a million copies..(and thats been optimistic) Many people will say i wish Sega made a sequel to this or that or any other company for that matter....these are the same people who request games but actually never buy crap if such a game gets actually released..
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast

Sega still publishers many great games and games you probably wouldn't see other publishers touch. Even if their Sonic games or others went down hill for awhile, man they have delivered some great stuff this gen. I really hope this doesn't turn out too bad. Like you guys are saying a gaming world without Sega... what the hell, that wouldn't be right.
