Maya made me angry today, quitting on me in the middle of an important render. She always does!

But then, my girlfriend made me happy! :D

Only jobs I've ever had were in telecommunications and computer related fields. No degree yet so that makes it a bitch to find jobs, but if you look hard enough and are determined you can make something happen. I hate interacting with strangers too, but I'm able to suck it up. Beggars can't be choosers, gotta take what you can get these days.

Good to hear you're doing well harper... keep up posted.

Cool. I love tools and I do use most of them for projects around the house. Maybe we should have a "Show off your Tools thread". "How about Top Ten Dewalt tools?" "Top Ten Attachments for your Fein Multimaster?"

Smile: Test resuls #2 are in. Tumors in my legs seem to be benign.

Slightly inconvenient: Doc still wants to extract one of them to be 100% certain.

Awesome! Bummer about the extraction thing, how long does it take to recover from that?

Smile: I just got back from the guitar shop, it went pretty good.

To bring you guys up to speed a little... I posted a few weeks back that I stopped in there and was talking to the owner about being a guitar tech. He sounded pretty interested in me. About a week passed and I hadn't heard anything from him, so I went back but unfortunately he wasn't there. I left a message with some one, but he still never got back to me. I was worried that either he was dodging me or he never got the message. I didn't wanna be stopping in there every other day and bother him.

So I went down there today. He did actually get the message I left for him, but due to the circumstances the last 2 weeks he wasn't able to get back to me. One of his employees has been out with a family emergency, and he misplaced my number.

But the good news is every time I talk to him I seem to be able to explain some other skill I have that will be useful to him. This time he mentioned having to run phone lines so I jumped on that and told him I could do it. So it looks like I'll probably be running some phone lines and setting up his phone system some time soon. Also, fixing his music-on-hold device that I mentioned in an earlier post. I'm going back down there on Friday after work (my current job is like 1 minute away) to discuss details and whatnot.

I primarily wanna be a guitar tech, but I'll be happy doing just about anything there. The thing is, he has a guitar tech that only does some things. So I might be able to do some tech work that the other guy doesn't. I also might be able to pick up any slack that the current tech can't get to. But I was told that the current tech might be moving soon, so that would really be great for me. For the time being, I might just be bouncing around doing odds and ends. He mentioned something about me possibly editing photos for the website. Unless it's scrubbing the toilets, I'd be more than happy to do just about anything there.

Anyways, I'll be going back down on Friday to talk more. Wish me luck!

But I'd think it only adds to the drama/grief to have an open casket where you can see the tragedy laid bare at the funeral. So while it is a reassuring/comforting thing to know that they are being buried together, it is not a wise decision for a wake, in my opinion. It might be the saddest funeral you'll ever attend. Be sure to grab a few beers before, and bring a flask and lots of tissues.
Pretty much agree with all this. Sorry to hear you had to deal with that Luke. Main stuff I agree with here is that an open casket is fucked up and pointless, and that you should have had a flask handy. Personally, death doesn't really bother me at all and I'm pretty much desensitized at this point given all I've seen, but I really see no point in open casket at all. Shakes people up hard.

I recently had to attend an infant's funeral, and I was quite relieved upon hearing it wasn't going to be open casket. Seeing people freak the fuck out at that kind of stuff is pretty uncomfortable and sometimes scarring.

That's weird.... I just read that same post by Luke last night even though I swear I clicked on the last page of the thread (not page one).
