So I just heard a character say that asaris are all about infiltration and sabotage. I thought that was a Salarian thing. I kind of viewed asaris as diplomats

Trust us dude, the ending will not let you down in its suckage. The journey up to it for that 30 hours or so was completely amazing, and they completely fumble the ball at the last 5 minutes.

Well the Commando's were always pretty intense (I forget if they were in ME1).
Gamerforlife wrote:Man, it's MUCH harder to play pure paragon in ME 3. Not because they force Renegade points on you like ME 2 does, but because some of the renegade options just seem like the way Shepherd SHOULD act.
Honestly I played Paragon in both ME2-ME3 and almost always did the Renegade options, yet stayed like 95% Paragon easily. Most of the options here were a bit more intense and interesting, whereas in ME2 they were just flat out stupid (Bioware's implementation there). Like, hey here comes a bunch of Krogan's soldiers, [Renegade] shoot the gas tank below them! or... just wait for them to take position and have a disadvantage. It was silly. I never really got that vibe in ME3, then again I just almost always went with the renegade interruptions anyways so who knows how things are without them. But yeah, who doesn't want to headbutt a news reporter?

And there's one very late in the game that was just beyond badass.

All that said it's totally obvious ME3 is Shepard's story, not yours. I watched a friend playing renegade and there was usually like, a one sentence worth of difference per response and they just weren't that different. Shepard just cusses a little more. The line between bad and good in this one is thinner than ever before for sure. You're just playing Shepard's story, can be polite or an asshole sometimes and that's about it if you ask me. I liked the dialogue presentation if you want to call it that (like I was saying above) in ME3 the best, but the conversations weren't nearly as dynamic as the first game, not very many options most of the time. Still, this factor didn't really bring the game down at all to me. It just felt a lot more linear but I didn't mind.

I really hate Reaper Alertness :(

I guess having the best stealth vessel in the Alliance doesn't mean jack in this game

One thing that has always bothered me about this trilogy is how they've essentially made Kaiden and Ashley the same character. I killed off Ashley in the first game, but every thing that Kaiden does in ME 2 and what I've so far played of ME 3 really seems written for her. Yet it all gets applied to Kaiden as well. He was more mature than Ashley in ME 1. He wouldn't have been so damn whiny about the Shepherd working for Cerberus thing as Ashley would be. Making them have the same arc is lazy writing and makes your choice to save one of them in ME 1 have far less weight than it would have if each character had a completely different story arc. The fact that they don't makes it seem like Kaiden is just Ashley without boobs.

Yeah I hear having Kaiden around in ME3 is pretty hilarious.

This could be such a great game if the gameplay wasn't crap. I love telling my Shepherd to use warp and watching him just stand up, removing himself from cover, and doing absolutely NOTHING!

GOD DAMNIT THIS GAME IS BUGGY!!!

Half the time my biotics don't even track their targets

Grrrr, that along with crappy new gameplay changes LIKE THOSE STUPID GODAMM GRENADES AND SHIT COVER SYSTEM!!!

....are starting to annoy me

Anyway, finished that stupid retrieve Krogan female mission. I got some great and funny dialog from Wrex, Garrus and Javik but I am seriously getting sick of ME 3's gameplay already. I'm pretty much ONLY playing the game for the story at this point, which is still fantastic so far. The dialog and character interaction is just stellar.

The point for me when I started to dislike the combat as a pure soldier was when they started either spawning waves to the side, negating cover, or sending in tanky mobs who would happily run up to you while you're in cover and murder you. It felt like a bait and switch; first they teach me that combat goes one way, then they exploit the fact I learned how to fight by changing the mechanics completely.

I experienced one glitch (I got stuck on a wall) and no real gameplay problems. Seems that I was the exception.

Aside from the first game I've barely ever experienced glitches in these games. But seeing others complain about them cracks me up since some people I know uncovered a lot, I remember watching one of my friends play it once and he got Shepard stuck in a desk somehow.

These games don't like you guys.

same here, the only things I have ran into is objects disappearing from shot when the camera changes or the camera panning to show a squad-mate talk and they are not there. Since when was there invisibility in Mass Effect
