Sure there is. He might be dead on your save file and the designated replacement has no reason to follow you around. Plus, he still needs to lead the Krogan. He can't just go gallavanting around the galaxy.
That would be Rex leading the Krogan not Grunt. Plus as by what they said the game should take in to account if Grunt is dead or not. The result of not keeping him alive in 2 would be not having that character on your team, choices as Bioware said.
Except you don't get any of your ME2 characters who weren't also ME1 characters. ME3 is ME1 + two new guys.[/quote]

I know but I am saying why not some of the guys from Mass Effect 2, its not like Grunt is doing something important. He does not have his team anymore.

Because none of your ME2 companions were back as companions. They wanted to use them for important story moments in ME3 without being shackled by having to consider them as player companions.
Consider how many of your ME2 characters have forced deaths and add in all the deaths that occur if you didn't do loyalty in ME2. If all those deaths were of player companions it would have felt terrible as a player. I finally got to use Mordin and now he's dead. I finally got Samara and she just blew her brains out. I finally got Grunt and he died saving us from the Reaper Rachni. By not giving us them as full companions you still maintain the emotional impact of the loss from a storyline perspective but without the additional frustration of losing a gameplay character. To compare, when Aeris was killed in FF7 I wasn't affected by it from a storyline perspective but I was pissed that I lost the character I had been raising as my mage.
Now, if they wanted to replace Freddy Prinze Junior with a Krogan, I'd have no problems with that. There's just a good reason you don't get Grunt or Wrex.

I'm so glad I picked Kasumi to go through the shafts and hack the systems in the Mass Effect 2 suicide mission. It makes some of her dialog in ME 3 fit soooooo much better.

I probably should have picked Jack for the biotic specialist role in ME 2's suicide mission, because I've heard that she actually remembers that and will specifically mention it in ME 3, but I thought Samara was the smarter choice. A powerful Asari with years of biotic experience who is bound to a code of justice and sworn to serve Shepherd, versus a crazy, unstable, murdering, criminal, psycho human who only cares about herself and probably doesn't even fully understand her biotic abilities. Which would you pick to protect your squad? Plus, it was Samara's idea and I thought that part of the game was just more dramatic with her in the role. Course, you could also pick stupid, overconfident Miranda (and lose a squad mate in the process), who seemed to want Shepherd to pick her for every role in that suicide mission. She's like the overachiever in class who raises her hand to answer every question

On another note, I'm glad I'm playing a biotic Shepherd. It's interesting that characters within the game actually acknowledge that I'm a biotic. So I like playing as biotics for role playing purposes. It also lends more weight to the idea that Shepherd is special. I have played through the trilogy as a Vanguard, than a Sentinel and now an adept. Basically, all three biotic classes, so I feel like my Shep has fully explored his biotic potential. It seems fitting that I'd have him end the trilogy as an adept, the most powerful biotic class. He's knows his full potential now and can go full on jedi on people. After two games of blasting people away, he doesn't even need guns anymore. Awesome.

Yeah, I over think these games if you can't already tell

I'm running erands on the Citadel, including some for Aria. I've cleared Palaven and Grissom Academy, and have Garrus, Edi, Javik, James, and Liara on my squad. I really loved what happened when I had Shep have too many drinks at Purgatory. The look on Aria's face was priceless.

I'd be a lot farther in the game, but I waste a lot of time listening to NPC dialog and it's such a hassle in this installment getting those dialogs to advance. I don't know why they did that.

There's another pretty epic moment involving alcohol and one of your squadmates later on in the game. Suffice to say, after major missions make sure you go talk to everyone on the ship.

Looking forward to that, I've noticed there's a LOT more going on aboard the Normandy than in previous games. Despite whatever complaints I may have about the game, I credit Bioware for making the characters, including Shepherd, feel much more like real people in ME 3 than they did before. Shepherd shows more personality, and the characters don't seem to have their world revolve completely around him anymore.

The way I look at it:

ME1 - Better story/plot/atmosphere, hands down
ME2/ME3 - Better characterization (minus the lack of a good Saren-like character in ME2-ME3).

The dialogue and interactions was definitely at its best in ME3, very dynamic stuff. You see your crew around the Citadel too a lot which was even cooler. An awesome improvement over the first two games where they were just always in the same spot every single time.

I had to look that up...

I don't think TIM fits the "villain" bill though like Saren did, or some of Bioware's other older games with a character like that. Even if Saren was still pretty dynamic himself, you saw him as the central core of the Geth in ME1. There was nothing like that in the sequels. TIM, Harbinger, and certainly Kai Leng didn't fill those shoes to me.
