While this was a great nostalgic surprise, it left many myself included wondering if this was just for tonight or would Toonami return next Saturday? Steve Blum has released an official statement on his twitter saying that the Cartoon Network block is not back for good and if fans want it they should do something about it.

“For the record, Wikipedia, I did NOT say it’s here to stay. …But I sure hope so. Let ‘em know you want it, people.
Late. End Transmission. XO
T.O.M.”

Naturally, a huge movement has started which I am a part of to get Toonami back on the air permanently. There is even a petition that has started. You can sign it by visiting the link below and there is even a fanpage devoted to bring back Toonami:

Toonami Petition
http://www.change.org/petitions/cartoon ... adult-swim

Bring Back Toonami fanpage

You may be wondering, “hey, how can I help?” Good question. Obviously, sign the petition and you can even go straight to the source, Cartoon Network. Steve Blum recently posted on his official facebook fanpage about how you can do just that.

“Yo, Toonami Faithful…
Thanks for tuning in. Hope it kicked in some happy memories and kicked off a happy April! As you (hopefully) know, bringing Toonami back isn’t up to me. I’m just a voice guy. Many of you want to know how to make your voices heard. Maybe start here… http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/feedback/
Go to “programming” then “Toonami”
Love you guys from the bottom of my servos.”

So get out there and spread the word! Toonami is going to bring itself back. We can do this, the Mass Effect fanbase got Bioware to do something with there game. The Toonami fanbase is probably just as big, time to start sending letters and liking facebook pages and signing petitions. We can make this happen. :D

Also Tom mentions that the next/new episode of bleach will be next saturday at 12AM, but he only says on Toonami, not Adult swim

I actually went to the CN webpage and used the feedback form to send them a little blurb about bringing Toonami back. Mentioned how Adult Swim's prank was really just a reminder of what good programming has been lost over the years.

Thanks, if we can keep this up we can get them to admit that it needs to come back, that it's fanbase is still here, from what I have heard there rating/viewers here higher during the Toonami prank then during the last year or two. It is cartoon network after all, not crappy movie re-runs and reality shows.

I'd watch pick Toonami over the shit Adult Swim is playing any day. The only reason I knew about Adult Swim when I was a kid is because they showed Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop every night. I'm pretty sure that's the reason I'm an insomniac to this day. Now...

Adult Swim essentially started out as Toonami at a later time slot. But they say Anime blocks gets them the least views, which any anime fan would tell them is because they pick up bad anime or just keep replaying the same shows from 10 years ago. How many times can you rewatch a half season anime?

And I refuse to believe the good ones have less viewers than some of the dribble they have created in house.

I agree that this is the main problem. Adult Swim has had some good stuff, sure. Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Lupin, Blue Gender, NGE, Gundam. Overall though the anime selection is pretty terrible, and yeah, the repetitive-ness of what they air is irritating as well.

I know, I know. But it' just not the same :(
Load up a DLNA server. It's compatible with many devices, most of which hook up to your TV. Much more convenient as long as you have a DLNA compliant device. (Tablet, PS3, 360, most cable boxes, etc)

I watched it a couple of months back, and they were playing some anime. I wasn't really paying attention, something about aliens and they kept saying some about Fushi Kushi or someat like that. I'm not sure... I would like to see it. The only shows on there I like are American Dad and King of the Hill, which I watch only on local channels. It's really a shame.
