If only I thought of that as a kid!ac_90 wrote:solid!Jungell wrote:Ok, today I received a Game Boy in the mail! The fellow was nice enough to include a random Star Wars game and a worm light.
A nifty little tip; the worm light is basically useless as it is. It only lights up about half the screen and with a horrible highlight. But if you sand the surface of the LED to diffuse it, the light scatters softly over a bigger area! I got the idea and tested it by playing Castlevania in a pitch black room and I was delighted when it actually worked really well!
Not bad for something that goes for about a buck!

I have a Gameboy Color and a Gameboy Advance, but for Gameboy games (and what Gameboy Color games will work on it), I usually use my Super Gameboy on my Super Nintendo.

I was thinking about getting one of these:

I need something that protects the screen AND have a light source for playing on an aircraft, I figure this fits the bill. Anyone have an experience with something like this?

Has anyone else noticed how much more comfortable the Game Boy (Color) is compared to the GBA?

I would still recommend getting a better light! It was more a good tip for people who already have the worm light! The Nihilist wrote: Thank you! I can forget getting one of these then.

This. I have. I don't mind the GBA or anything, but my GBC is a lot more comfortable to hold and play.o.pwuaioc wrote:Has anyone else noticed how much more comfortable the Game Boy (Color) is compared to the GBA?

Re: Actually playing on a Gameboy?
I don't have a GBA, but I'm willing to bet a lot of the discomfort comes from having the screen directly between the D-Pad and buttons. When I first had my DS Lite I thought I'd want to set the GBA games to display in the bottom screen and was surprised by how terrible that felt.o.pwuaioc wrote:Has anyone else noticed how much more comfortable the Game Boy (Color) is compared to the GBA?
Although, the Sega Nomad has the same screen placement as the GBA and I find that comfortable, so maybe there's more going on there. I think the GBC is comfier than the Pocket, actually, because it has a nice semi-chunkiness. So there's that.
Re: Actually playing on a Gameboy?
The model 1 Game Boy Advance design was ergonomically excellent. The SP, on the other hand, seems to have been designed for women's hands.
Re: Actually playing on a Gameboy?
The SP is fairly uncomfortable. The original is perfect.
