Been a few years since I've looked over the selection, the PCE selection honestly looked pretty impressive. Saw some nice imports here and there too like DoReMi Fantasy, Ufouria, etc. Looks like the N64 section is still terrible though.
So yeah just generally throwing this out there to get some ideas. Looked like a lot of stuff for the Genesis and PCE I'd like to grab eventually. I'm still kind of more of an authentic collector... but the convenience of playing some old stuff on my HDTV is pretty nice and tempting, haha.
Got a Wii again, any Wii Shop classics suggesitons?

I am pretty sure you have already played what I would suggest...Xeogred wrote:Been a few years since I've looked over the selection, the PCE selection honestly looked pretty impressive. Sin & Punishment N64 is a cool novelty, although if you're used to the S&P2's controls, S&P will be a challenge. N64 Virtual Console games in general look great in 480p, although the missing ability to freeze the game state is a bummer. Kirby 64 is, IMHO, an underrated game and good clean fun for ten bucks.
Rondo of Blood is an obvious choice compared to the cost of the actual game (so is Metal Slug). Bokutte Upa and Ufouria I had trouble getting in to. I think I'll try again with Ufouria, but it's odd. If you want classic Sunsoft, Blaster Master is there and holds up today, IMHO. DoReMi Fantasy, which you mention, is one of my favorite purchases and a complete must-get. For TG16, my most played VC games are probably Blazing Lazers, Galaga 90, and Bonk's Revenge (Super Bonk on SNES is insane, btw...). My latest purchases on VC for any system is Neutopia II for TG16, which I may have raised my hopes too much for.
But before I spend any more cash on Nintendo Points, I want confirmation of complete or nearly-complete transferability to the WiiU. I hope that comes during E3.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but be very picky at least. You're essentially just paying for them to emulate the game, something you can do yourself for free. Lots of stuff can be had in compilations via PS3/X360 and played on your HDTV. There's definitely some great Sega and PCE stuff, but again keep in mind that Sonic's Genesis Collection on PS3/X360 covers tons of classics. I bought some stuff off the Wii store when I first got one too, just random impulse buys. Looking back though I regret it and I wasted like 50 bucks or so.
Another thing I'll throw out there is that the Konami Rebirth games (Casltevania, Gradius, Contra) are awesome and worth a go.
You can also just mod your oXbox and have an emulation powerhouse and have an excellent picture via your component cable if you still have it.

Nintendo will never adequately re-release the N64 classics because so many of them were made by Rare. So the N64 section is going to stay terrible.Xeogred wrote:Been a few years since I've looked over the selection, the PCE selection honestly looked pretty impressive. Except that N64 games emulate poorly on the oXbox.brunoafh wrote: You can also just mod your oXbox and have an emulation powerhouse and have an excellent picture via your component cable if you still have it.

Nintendo has full rights to DK64, Jetpac included. Rare even said they don't know why Nintendo doesn't re-release it.BoringSupreez wrote:Nintendo will never adequately re-release the N64 classics because so many of them were made by Rare. Good stuff so far. Do you guys also have Wii recommendations in general? I think I've literally pretty much ignored it for years... outside of Nintendo's first party stuff I'm pretty clueless. But looking around it looks like there might be some good JRPG's, and stuff like Muramasa, Sin & Punishment, etc. Anyone got a good rundown of some suggestions?

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, *maybe* NSMBW (watch gameplay before buying, it's easy even by Mario standards and has way too small characters IMO), Zelda TP and SS, Kirby EY and RTDL, Brawl, Sonic Colo(u)rs, and maybe Mario Kart Wii (item balance is thrown out the window, but time trials are fun).
