Looking around in Xbox Media Center, My Xbox is a 1.6B and I've discovered there are several different revisions and although I have the final one and therefore i would assume the best, it seems it's not compatible with a few really great games in HD like Panzer Dragoon Orta and Serious Sam because it features a different video encoder. If I got say an Xbox 1.4 or 1.5, would I be missing out anything that the Xbox 1.6 offers?
As well, I've seen scattered mods that people have done to increase the specs of their systems including doubling the RAM from 64 to 128 MB and upgrading the processor from 733Mhz to 1.4 Ghz. Has anyone here done this? What's the difference in performance? Is this for mame only? I can see how doubling the RAM would help, but does increasing the processor speed actually do anything...?
thanks.
Is there any preformance differences between OXbox models?

Re: Is there any preformance differences between OXbox model
I think people prefer 1.1 to 1.4 xboxes because they were easier to hard-mod and were quieter (heat sink only on GPU, no fan). The 1.0 has a noisy gpu fan but that can be replaced by a better heat sink.
1.6, they removed the LPC header so a hard-mod is harder to do.
That's what I know about the performance differences.
