I also agree that a new console would definitely help. I would most likely buy one. And if they were to create a predecessor to Segata Sanshiro, I would probably buy 10.

The fact that you don't know that SEGA has had new IPs released is evidence that it hasn't shown to be a winning strategy for them recently. Alpha Protocol, Mad World, Binary AD, Bayonetta, Stormrise, Spiral Knights, Space Siege, The Club, Universe at War, and Vanquish are all new IPs from Sega, but most of them fell kind of flat.

I think the problem is simply that Sega's style of gaming is fading away. Sega on their own has always had that Arcade Action feel to their games for the most part. Seems like the general gamer has moved away from that.

Ah, other than Bayonetta and Spiral Knights, I didn't realize the others were even Sega games. And I hadn't even heard of Binary AD, or Mad World (which, after a quick google search, looks really awesome). So, I guess my previous point kinda died.

I don't think the community has, I just think that other companies are doing it just as well or better. Studios like Suda51 or even the what-are-they-doing-now Konami (who bought out Hudson last I heard).
