What's your favorite zone in Sonic 1?

Post by Kevman »

I beat Sonic 1 on the Genesis. It was somewhat difficult being you had to play the game in one sitting.

Which brings me to a poll what is your favorite zone in the entire game and please explain.

Mine is a toss up between Starlight Zone and Greenhill Zone. Greenhill zone was pretty fast and you hardly had to stop to wait for a platform to appear. I'm going to have ot say Star Light Zone though since it was less repetitive than Green Hill Zone.

Those two are my favourites, too. Green Hill Zone is awesome in many ways, but it was also the very first time you get to play Sonic. To a young man (14) who didn't like Mario and his games, Green Hill Zone was for me EXACTLY what I wanted in a video game at the time.

Also Green Hill Zone got played the most simply by being at the beginning, and even after playing it so much I never tired of it...that must mean it was great.

Star Light Zone I love because it happens right after that damn water level. I never liked the water levels (in any Sonic) and so running free again in the Stars was soooooo nice.

I can't decide...so I'll say Green Hill Zone.

Star light zone...if not simply for the concept, then for the music (Boo doob boop doop boop boop)
the level design itself was tricky. Not in an unforgiving way though. Many parts of it required precision jumping, but still allowed for top speed running. SO MANY ways around it

That drowning tune sounds a lot like Jaws music.
