This is the perfect time for Sega to develop the Dreamcast 2. Make it backwards compatible with Dreamcast games and allow it to play used games (unlike the other upcoming consoles apparently). Market it as a "real" gaming console as opposed to a crappy social media hub (which is what the new Xbox/PS are likely to be). Remake the Panzer Dragoon games and release Skies of Arcadia II and Phantasy Star V.
Problems solved!!!

Rather than encouraging people to go out and get Binary Domain and Yakuza zombie game, we should encourage Sega to make more appealing games than Binary Domain and Yakuza zombie game. A lot of stuff that the company has been putting out of late has been the sorts of games I have no interest in plunking money down on.

Considering Sega's problem is that they're losing money, I'd say a lot of people are suffering from the same problem as you and I. We don't need people to go out and buy the stuff Sega's currently making; we need Sega to start making games we want to play without any coercion from internet forums.

Re: Sega announces big loss
I still like Sega. Games like Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta, and Sonic Generations proved to me that they still matter. VC is one of the best strategy rpgs of the past decade. Bayonetta arguably perfected the Devil May Cry formula, and remains currently uncontested given the shit review scores that Ninja Gaiden 3 has received. And Sonic Generations is just Sonic being his old, awesome self again, giving us some nice, throwback, 2D gameplay and really nailing the 3D stuff as well. It's the best of both worlds and Sonic is still unique in the platform genre even today. I maybe shouldn't give them credit for Bayonetta since they didn't make it, but they still published it.
Sega still matters, the industry still needs them. VC is such a perfect example of what a proper Sega title feels like, and SG proves that you can still get the old band back together and pump out some more hits.

I love SEGA even though I haven't always enjoyed some of the decisions they have made. I hope they recover and stick around, because I believe they have a lot to offer the gaming world, if they just get their priorities straight and make good decisions.
Re: Sega announces big loss
Despite the bad financial news, it does look like Sega may still have a few interesting games coming down the pipe if these new trademarks are anything to go by:

Valkyria Duel caught my eye at any rate. Valkyria chronicles and the Platinum Games titles have been the only things to really catch my eye that Sega has had a hand in of late.

Strangly, a large number of my wii collection is made up of Sega games. I often don't realise that they are publish by Sega until I've bought it and look at the box. I'm obvious drawn to the kind of games that Sega like to publish.
Hope they make it thru this though, would be a real shame to loose them now.

The link in the op took me to some porn site. I'm out to breakfast with my dad and set my phone down while it was loading and got the funniest look from our server. Good thing idgaf and I'm at a bar.
