Re: Orbis/PS4 Rumor Mill and News
I'm divided on the next-gen consoles as of now. The tech enthusiast wants the bleeding cutting edge technology and the consumer side is content with my current systems and my gaming library.
I'll be getting the next generation systems regardless what Sony/Microsoft decide regarding the anti-used game sales they put into place. I enjoy having physical copies in my collection as much as anyone but OnLive and digital distribution I'm starting to enjoy because eventually I will start running out of space in my place.

All digital is fine if new games are 30 bux. $60 is gonna go the way of the do-do bird.

But if the same game was $60 physical, you could buy it used for $45, then sell it for $30 when you're done and only have to pay a total of $15.

But you still had to front the $45. And good luck finding a store that pays $30 when the used price is $45.GameMasterGuy wrote:But if the same game was $60 physical, you could buy it used for $45, then sell it for $30 when you're done and only have to pay a total of $15.

So that may have been a *slight* exaggeration, but there still won't be a $30 difference.
Re: Orbis/PS4 Rumor Mill and News
Pretty sure there will be, though I haven't been to a Gamestop since I graduated college and got a job (outside of a DQ9 event where I didn't engage in financial transactions).

Gamestop? That's your problem. Local stores don't rip you off.

I forsee it... the second great console crash. The world is sad and dying. Microsoft and Sony completely lose their gaming divisions, destroying any chance they had of money in that area. Darkness invades, and the market plunges. Gamers everywhere flock to PC, with others sadly going to their past relationships with older consoles in hopes of gaining renewed love. Then, there is a light. It is bright, beautiful, and strongly white. An old sound harkens. The people alight in awe. Then the two come. The first, older, more hunched, and well experienced in his ways, he cast forward his staff, easily moving the crowd of saddened gamers in front of him. Trailing, in blue and white, comes a womanly figure. Beautiful, with a delightful charm, she skips ahead. They both seem familiar to the gamers. The two both produce boxes from the insides of their coats. They open them. The old man produces a simple item, a small, red hat, with an M embroidered on the front. The girl then produces her own item, nothing but a small, blue swirl with a two underneath. The gamers mutter, shouts of dissent and disbelief traveling through them. Then one stands. Red headed, with glasses and wide shoulders, he shouts.
"AHOO! AHOO! AHOO! They have returned!!!!"

I'm not sure what's more amusing. The thought that Sony and Microsoft would get out of the console race, or the thought that the Dreamcast 2 will ever happen.Forlorn Drifter wrote:I forsee it... the second great console crash. I can dream. I CAN dream. I do love my 360, but that not playing used game bullshit won't run with me.MrPopo wrote:I'm not sure what's more amusing.
