Persona 3

Post by kgcarini »

I finally beat Persona 3! This is one of the best rpgs I have ever played! I put in 86 hours! I loved the social link spects of this game, the battles, and the music. I believe that this game is in the top 3 of RPGs that I've played. What does everyone else think of Persona 3? 8)

I think it's a severely overrated piece of jRPG crap, with battle system mechanics more primitive than NES RPGs, and entirely too much jabbering and dating sim.

I had my 80 hours of fun with the game. I really like that one, especially the overall style. It is really one of the best RPGs on the PS2.

But to be honest, 50 hours of fun would've been enough, Persona 3 is way too long.

I beat it in 67 hours and it's easily one of my favorite RPGs period. I think I liked it for the exact reasons others disliked it; I enjoyed the talking and social aspects of the game. :: shrug :: To each their own.

wRPGs like KOTOR and Fallout are the only dialog heavy RPGs out there that stay interesting, because you actually PLAY a ROLE by making important verbal choices that change the story. Text heavy jRPGs are just visual novels, so what's the point in that? The Japanese keep trying to work with this gray area between books and film, and I wish they'd stop. The largest decisions you have with your peers in Persona 3 is to either go with a person and earn a little social point, or not go with and instead spend your evening at the mall, or studying, or playing an MMO, or whacking off. Whooptie do.
