You know what I hate about Fighters?

Seth Killian on the Shoryuken forums wrote an article explaining how he thought projectiles made 2D fighters better than 3D fighters. In most (if not all) 3D fighters, the action comes to a grinding halt when you back away from an opponent. With projectiles, the action never has to pause.

The thing I don't like about fighters is that unless it's some button-masher like Guilty Gear or Darkstalkers [still both very good games], you have to memorize countless button combinations and execute them just right in order to win, or at least get the most out of the game.

Any Guilty Gear button masher will get his or her ass handed to them by someone who actually knows how to play the game. Like Doctor Fugue, I'm not a great GG player, but there is a clear difference between novice, mediocre, good and expert players in that game. The computer is never the most telling opponent in a fighter.

Yeah I think projectiles make the game more interesting. Better than air juggling that's for sure

Ack, I agree with your love of Xmen COTA. That game kicks tail. It was sort of the early experimental game for Capcom to play with that over-the-top game feel. The positive end is that because it was still early it didn't go WAY over the top. And Iceman is one of my favorite characters in the game. VERY strong distance fighter.

I love fighting games but the one thing that I DESPISE so much is bad boss AI in fighters like KOF and Fatal Fury!!!!
