Monster S-Video Cables

Does anyone have experience with the Monster S-Video cables being sold by Classic Game Source on eBay? I'm thinking about buying the lot of six for my N64, GameCube, and eventual SNES and reselling the extras. Are they any good?

The properly separate the Y/C signals and everyone I know that has used them said they worked well, so they should be just as good as any other. The cord is long as hell (10 feet?) for whatever reason. Maybe to justify the retail cost. I considered getting one as well, but I was able to get a Nintendo brand s-video cable direct from Japan for the same cost as one of the Monster cables.

If your systems are all next to each other, you can just swap the plug from console to console and use a single TV input and one cable.

those are the same six i bought and sold/traded here. i kept two of them. their really pretty good quality.

Cool! Thanks for the info everyone. Zing, using one cable is a good idea, but I hate having to constantly switch cables. I'd much rather have everything hooked up at the same time to a switch box.

Monster anything is usually way over priced, they aren't any more special than most other cables (especially digital cables). But that is a real nice price.

Monster cables are nice, but they are HEAVY. If your cords are hanging, it can cause some issues. Mine always gave me problems because of this.

Based on the reviews, no. Despite the photo, it appears they sell the junky cables that also have composite wired in as well. These cables do not properly separate the s-video signals, which essentially feeds a composite signal to your s-video input. It will look pretty bad. When you hear someone complain about s-video image quality on their Nintendo system, they will usually have this type of cable.

Does this refer to cables that have composite and s-video built into the same cable? I have a couple of those (all using the s-video) and have not noticed a problem with quality. I cannot tell you the brand, as I get them from a local used game store for a few bucks each in generic packaging.
