As a lefty using the default control scheme, I can say this game is still a lot of fun. But it is not easy to play on the go. I can see why they provided a stand. I just started playing the game today for the first time on the train. It's tough to keep holding the device the right way and to dodge properly while holding the 3DS.
I guess I may reserve this one for mostly home play. At the same time, this game is fantastic. I think it's the perfect candidate to port to the Wii-U as a launch title and make me get a Wii-U day one.

If you ever manage to find a fix let me know, my friend has the exact same issue.Pichu wrote:The game absolutely kicks ass. Easily one of my favorites so far.
However I have one main gripe. It takes me 15 minutes at least to connect to online, and that's with turning on and off repeatedly my DMZ for the 3DS in my router settings. Plus after I'm done my Friend List isn't even able to get me to show up as online.
I've never been able to connect with Mario Kart 7, but eShop and SpotPass work fine. Is there anyone else havin this problem? Maybe with Kid Icarus? Because it still connects after some waiting, just not instantly and it screws up my friend list. If so I'd like to know what I can do.
I must've gotten 6 different error codes that are all Hotspot errors on the Nintendo support site. If it helps, I have a Belkin router which I hear sucks for gaming.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who loves the Nintendo e-Reader.

It's not exactly a fix, but I tried playing today during the early afternoon, and I was able to connect after only one failure. My guess is that whatever server I connect to (and your friend) is either busy or not reaching the 3DS at certain times. Because I had the issue at night, but during the day it's much better. Tell your friend to try at a different time for now.Cody_D165 wrote:If you ever manage to find a fix let me know, my friend has the exact same issue.Pichu wrote:The game absolutely kicks ass. Plus the game just came out, so that lends some evidence to my assumption.

Okay, got my copy (thank you free, albeit a tad slow, amazon shipping).
I put about 10 minutes into it so far and I'm having fun.
I like the 3D effect but the only reason I like the 3D effect is because of the stand. I really like the stand because it keeps the system stationary. I hope future titles utilize the stand.
More thoughts later.
Oh and amazon did a price match with Best Buy (I think best buy) and I got a $10 refund. Woot.

Can't essentially anything utilize the stand? It is just a stand after all.

I guess any game would work provided you don't have to use the gyro-sensor (or whatever it's called).
Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising
Hmm...this could come in handy for rhythm games (Theathrythm, Rhythm Thief), visual novels/adventures (Zero Escape), or just general touch screen games (Kirby Mass Attack, Phantom Hourglass).KDub wrote:Can't essentially anything utilize the stand? It is just a stand after all.
The stand seems to be more useful that I thought. Cool.

I finally had a chance to open up and start playing some Kid Icarus. WOW, I am really enjoying this game! I've been using the control options that use the ABXY buttons to move the pointer around. To be honest, this has worked out really well for me and it is actually very good in regards to ground combat. Other than that, there is just so much depth to this game.
My favorite touches so far are obviously the awesome graphics, unbelievably good and constant voice acting as well as the amazing soundtrack. Overall, it's a damn good time and one of the best experiences to be had on 3DS. Kid Icarus is back after 20 years and looking better than ever.

Personally, I feel the voice acting falls under "it's so bad, it's good".FerretGamer wrote:unbelievably good and constant voice acting

Maybe, I think Ninja Gaiden and the Resident Evils fit that category a lot more.Opa Opa wrote:Personally, I feel the voice acting falls under "it's so bad, it's good".FerretGamer wrote:unbelievably good and constant voice acting
