I tried so hard to like Cursed Mountain. When I first saw it, it looked like the only interested game on the wii at the time. But it ended up being a little "meh" in my opinion, but I did get pretty far in it I guess. I got to this one boss and couldn't figure out how to beat it so I gave up. haha

That was back when I got my first wii so it has been probably well over a year. I have to admit that once in a while I think of that game again and kind of want to give it another shot. It's not too bad after you get used to the hand motions you have to make for the "spells" or "rituals" or whatever they were. And there were times when it actually was kind of spooky. The voice acting though, man it was pretty bad. haha

Ya lol the voice acting was random and i think i know what boss your referring to. I got pretty far in the game infact i think i got to the top of the mountain then i have not played since.

But its got a pretty good storyline really and ya it gets a little repetitive after a while but then againe its a horror game they tend to follow same guideline all the way though.

I was just happy to play a horror game that was not some resident evil 5 call of duty style crap. Wow the resident evil series went to shit well untill the one on 3ds that one rocks.

also you should try the new silent hill downpour game its pretty amazeing, It creppy and fun and alot of new stuff.

I've had Cursed Mountain in my "maybe-" column for a while and still might get around to it. Thank you for your impressions. There was an interesting, impassioned and long thread on it over at Gamefaqs a month or two ago. The game has its supporters.

On Wii, there's also the reimaginging of Silent Hill 1. I own it but haven't even put in the disc yet. There's also Dead Space Extraction, which I like a lot, and is somewhat tense and kind of / sort of horrory.

Fragile is more depressing than horrific.

Then there's Calling and Ju-on which are supposed to be laughably bad. Haven't tried either.

I really liked Cursed Mountain. It was quite different than what I was used to. The pacing and atmosphere were the high points for me. I even wrote a blog about it last June:

Definitely a flawed game, but worth checking out for fans of the genre or someone looking for something a bit different.

Juon: The Grudge, in my opinion, is great, but that is definitely not what everybody would think of it. Has that clumsy, helpless feel and stressful time limit mechanic. Motion controls "suck" in a good way. Managed to scare me and bunch of others anyway. More of a cinematic experience, just perfect amount of interaction for a horror game. You can laugh at it too, depends on how your approach it, I guess.

I was gonna say 6-9 hours. I didnt go out of my way to look for the journal entries though so it could be stretched a bit more.
