I remember buddies of mine that ordered from NCSX back in the day(over the phone, before the internetz) that always talked about the "chick" on the other end. I'm pretty sure she didn't upsell but they definitely wanted to talk to her rather than the dude (owner?). I think the lady was his wife...anyone?
If it angers you to be besieged with pre-orders, guidebooks and extended warranties when shopping at GS by the pretty ladies, then get over it. Go to therapy, take your meds or just plain grow up because if you think that is bad, wait til you gotta deal with life. Annoying? Yes. Make jokes/threads about it? Yes. Reason to go on hate parade? No.
