S Rank is totally based on time, the percentage is based on enemies shot down 9the whole level)

That stat screen pops up after like 3 demos. Takes me over a minute from the end of my run to get that screenshot.

I'll update it now, getting so close to 1m! Looks like you got the extend too!

Thanks man! I realized that the key for me to score well was to know where I could not score well right now. I don't even give a shit about that Stage 2 boss, he can kiss my ass. I know that I can S Rank the 3rd boss every time though.

I'm hoping for that 1cc, if I can manage to not totally eat shit 3 times in a row without using any bombs. That was just silly.

Yup, that screenshot w/all stats only appears after announcing the day's high scores. If you have any credits in the game, it won't come up.

Still no S-Rankings.

@E.E - you mentioned earlier that you don't have to fill the bomb meter all the way to 3 for it to count? So in other words, as soon as it says level 3 regardless of the level meter being filled I get the same power? If this is true I might be able to get my S-ranking on the stage 1 boss. I think I'm a second or two shy of S-Ranking. That 50K base sure would help me out.

Wow man, your score would definitely benefit from some S Ranks. Nice work though!

You are right, as soon as it says level 3 you can do a full bomb. The rest of the timer from 3 is how long you have until you are forced to bomb. It goes much quicker than the 2-3 meter.

Going to upload what I managed to do after like 10 runs today.

Edit:

Dunpeal2064 - 5,923,600 - Stage 6 - Lightning - Level 20 - Arcade

Missed that stage 5 extend, and died with full bombs once. Come on clear.

S Rank 1,3,4, and 5. Doubt I can pull that off again.

I think S ranking is:
>10 seconds (stage 1 - Ayako Special)
>32 seconds (stage 2 - Raimei)
>30 seconds (stage 3 - Karbert Armour)
>65 seconds (stage 4 - Grantz)

Dunno about:
Stage 5 - Sancho Pedro
Stage 6 - Metal Gear
Stage 7 - Outerlimits: The Black Nemesis

I'm so close to getting the first and third S ranks - that will do wonders for my score.

You're becoming a boss, Chaz. Damn. I put in a half dozen runs today all between 900K-1.3 mil. Haven't had a single S rank yet.

However, I just noticed what you guys are saying about releasing the bomb on level 3 - i've been doing what fvgazi is doing, waiting for it to auto-detonate.

Also, my facepalm moment - I realized by mistake on my last run that I can be shooting or charging my weapon while charging my bomb. These two realizations should get me in the 2mil range w/some S ranking tomorrow.

Well then, didn't think I'd have so much to deal with in a Capcom shmup contest! Although I am proud my score held on for days.

I'll try it again, but with 4 new GBA games and Gradius Galaxies coming Monday, I won't be all over it as much as I have been.

Only Level 20 though --

@fvg & mjm -- yes once you get Level 3 you let that go -- if there is any bomb power loss its obviously going to be very negligible, the full screen effect is there too and it's just as good fully charged or not. Be sure it clears Level 2, as that's only an area explosion. If you're pretty good with the buttons, you most certainly can keep shooting/charging/homing while you're waiting too.

Ha ha, yeah, my destroy rate was terrible. No Perfects! But the S Rank sure made it up.

Honestly, not sure if I'll keep on with this one. I do like this game, but as far as scoring systems go, its not one of my favorites.

At the score and the pace you're on, you won't have to  Last week it was 800K, now it's 4.6M.

This one isn't like the monthly game we're doing, so when I get a chance (and get to that point) you know I'll put it up here.

As I said, sometimes it's hard to match up with you shumup - gods but I try

Ha, I'm no shmup god. You pushed me to get that score, and you still aren't far behind me!

This game is definitely 1cc-able... but my deep love for Cave/Raizing shooters has me really wanting to put this board back on the market and look for a new shmup to dive into.

We'll see though, I may end up wanting to hang on to it for a bit.
