Yea, I really don't see a hardware revision for this year.

There's none of those gaping flaws that existed with the GBA and DS that would require a redesign. And it wouldn't make sense financially for Nintendo to release a revision yet. Not after dropping the price in the handheld's first year. And they're dropping new hardware this year too, a 3DS revision would only (potentially) take away from that. If there is one, it's not going to be until at least 2013, I'm betting. (And I REALLY doubt it'll include a second analog slider pad, just to note) The battery is really the only thing I could think of, but it's unlikely you could get a larger amperage battery in that size of area that's still lithium ion. (Though it's only 1300 mAh). What exactly NEEDS to be redesigned on the thing, physically? Not much, if anything.

I think people are confusing Nintendo's handheld practices with Sony's handling of the PSP, Nintendo's not going to release a revision every year. They never have. And this year makes the least amount of sense.

I'd be very surprised if Nintendo announced anything this year about a revision, and I would proceed to call them morons. :P

I want 3dsXL. Going from my 3ds to my DSiXL just reminds me how much I love my XL. So a 3dsXL would be good for me. That or TV out...just saying.

What exactly do you want in this '3DS Lite'? And I haven't heard any rumors of a revision...
I'd love to see a hardware update that included some minor design improvements - the upper screen not touching the bottom frame, a second analog stick (even though if you look at the 3DS interior, there is no space for the hardware unless they do make this release an XL version that loses some of the portability factor), and improved battery life. Doesn't seem likely though... and if it does happen, will probably be more expensive than I care to pay.

However, I think ZeroAX should just go ahead and buy. You can do a full system transfer if you need to upgrade later, and even if a hardware revision is announced this year it probably won't be released for a while yet. The pricing for 3DS isn't going to drop much, and you still see them on sale for as little as $130-140 if you shop around. Why wait and miss out on great games if you really do "want a 3DS SO BAD"?

I recommend that you go and buy one. Maybe even buy one used so as to get the ambassador games, if that's your thing. I see a lot of them for sale as fickle/impatient/broke people sell them to get money for Vitas.

I have played all the way through Resident Evil Revelations without the second analogue and did not find the experience lacking.

I *would* like an XL version. I would like better battery life, though I have the Nyko Power-Grip battery and I love it to death.

I say get one now and join the fun!!

The main thing I'd like to see in a 3DS revision is better battery life. My Vita definitely lasts longer. A right analog stick would be nice too. Not only for twin stick games but because I am left handed. And games like Kid Icarus only have proper lefty controls with one of those ugly CPPs.

Thinner would also be a nice touch.

I don't know if a right analog stick is going to be necessary in a future revision unless a significant number of titles start to utilize the CPP. Which the titles released so far don't really make me want to go out and purchase the accessory but it's a little too early to tell if it will be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Still, my main point, battery. My PS Vita seems to last 4 1/2 - 5 hours easily. With the brightness half way up, wifi on, etc.

3DS lasts 2 1/2 - 3 hours with wifi on, brightness half way, and 3D on. I need to see how it does with the wifi off and 3D off. Probably closer to 4 - 4 1/2. But turning off 3D defeats one of the most interesting, albeit kind of gimmicky, feature of the device.

The Nyko Power grip gives me about 12 - 15 hours. The grip is comfortable too and gives the unit a nice heft. Comes on and off, so you can go without it if you want to carry your naked 3DS around in your pocket.
