Through Google searching I've heard a lot of people say this game does not work well at all with Windows 7. I've also heard just as many people say it runs perfectly fine and they didn't have to do anything like running it in compatibility mode.
So what's the deal? I've been looking forward to getting this and then modding the graphics to look super amazing, but if I can't guarantee the game will run because I'm using Win 7 64-Bit for my OS then I don't know if I want to risk the $20 to buy it.

It works just fine. I haven't seen any additional instability from running it on 7 64-bit as compared to XP 32-bit.

Works fine for me on Win7 64bit. I didn't play much, but loaded up the game and walked around a little bit. Seems ok.

The steam version is, of course, going to work with Windows 7. It's on steam. That means Bethesda has recompiled the game for current operating systems and loaded that prepped content.
People may be having issues getting the retail release to run though. In which case a patch is likely needed.
I haven't tried Morrowind since changing Windows versions, so I couldn't tell you. BUT, if there is a major problem, someone has likely fixed it for retail copies.

I've been playing it on win7 64-bit for a while. Only real issue that appears is if you have an ATI graphics card the sun appears to just be a giant black spot in the sky.

Eh, Vvardenfell gets fucked over anyways, and Tamriel as a whole has been a dead realm walking since Daggerfall. Black Hole Suns are small-time compared to what's been going on there.Opa Opa wrote:END OF TIMES.AmishSamurai wrote:I've been playing it on win7 64-bit for a while. So is there anything that ATI cards are good for? It seems like every game either works the same on both, or has horrible glitches on ATI cards.AmishSamurai wrote:I've been playing it on win7 64-bit for a while.
