T4 is the worst for tinkering the game mechanics.

For me its either T5 or T3; I was NOT impress with T6, either with so many fighters, or the mechanics doesn't feel quite right.

Honestly for nostalgia sake I did enjoy Tekken 3 since that was the very first Tekken game I ever played. Along with the fact that I actually spent time unlocking everything in this one. I think my favorite memory of this game is the inclusion of Gon.

Now in terms of one I've played the most it would have to be Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection since that brought out Lily, which is my favorite fighter now.

Favorite overall though might have to be Tekken 6 seeing as I do enjoy the Scenario mode is this game immensely.

As much as I love both Tekken 3 and Tag, I have to say Tekken 5DR is my most favorite perhaps only because not only was it a very rock solid upgrade to T5, but it was further indication that the Tekken series was back on track and in good hands after the disasterous T4! But I'm sure after playing many hours of Tag2 (and further awaiting Tag2 Unlimited) I can say that my favorite Tekken game of all time will soon change ;)

4 was my introduction to Tekken. I played it in team vs. mode for hours and hours and hours. I loved having the move names come up on the screen, and continually cracking terrible puns in response (ie. "A staggering performance!" for King's Stagger Kick). Even Tekken force was fun, though brutally hard, and that voice saying "Chicken" will never leave me. I really enjoyed 5 and 6 too but for nostalgia's sake I have to go with 4.

I never realised it was so widely disliked until I read this thread! Why is that?

4 is a completely different game from what tekken was usually is known for at the time. The game put way too much emphasis on movement, confined areas, slopes everywhere, and not enough on juggles and combos which the series excelled at prior to 4... The gimped roster of fighters, atrocious soundrack and an balance issues didn't help either.
