How do you guys play your RPGs?

I personally am a marathon gamer.

I'll take two or 3 days off from work occasionally and just blast through an RPG or two.

How do you guys play?

An hour or two here or there?
Marathon sessions?

My system works ok for me, but I actually think I could beat more games if I played a little everyday instead of in big chunks.

What do you guys think?

Wait, you take days off from work just to play video games? I'm not one to talk. I once called in sick and banged out 12 hours of Tales of Symphonia.

In general though, I can play maybe an hour or two on a weeknight. Friday (night), Saturday, and Sunday I might be able to get four hours in. I never play more than one game at a time, and it usually takes me a few weeks to finish a game.

During the summer I have more time off work so I can occasionally do a marathon session. Last summer I finished FFVII within a matter of days.

I have a lot of free time, so if I'm really into a game, I'll sit down and play it all day long. If I'm liking it but not totally sucked in, I might play for an hour or two and usually can go a day or two without playing it. It just depends, I don't really have the attention span for RPGs these days. I can't imagine trying to play something in-depth like a Final Fantasy game right now when I can hardly even bring myself to finish Paper Mario. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to finish up Dragon Warrior (I'm not even close), yeah, that might never happen. haha

I usually start one, then every day after school spend all my free time playing. I repeat this until the game is complete.

It really depends on how I'm feeling. For example, I started a play through of Fallout a month or two ago and finished up Shady Sands and Vault 15. Then a couple weekends ago I knocked out Junktown. Then over the weekend I went on a marathon and did everything else.

If I purchase an RPG on release and I start playing it right away I tend to marathon through the whole thing. If I start playing something later I usually find myself doing small bits at a time.

A few hours here and a few hours there. But then I never can finish them. I just don't have time for day long sessions anymore, although it might be possible in the summer.

I typically have a bit of free time in the morning and a bit of free time in the evening, so if I'm trying in earnest to beat a game then I will put about 4 hours in to it a day, in 1 or 2 hour chunks, plus another hour for random other games just to break up the monotony. For instance, right now I'm playing through Xenogears at about 3-4 hours a day (most days, but not all) and breaking it up for some variety with Gran Turismo 2.

It typically takes me about one to two months to finish a game, but frequently I will get a certain distance through a game then take a lengthy break from it while I beat another game.

I usually do a mixture of both, but I lean more towards shorter play sessions. My marathons usually occur during weekends or breaks when I get an opportunity to play for an extended period of time.
