I've only spent maybe 20 minutes on this. I am faaaar behind. I'm going to try and get some time in this weekend. I really need to break at least 350k on dragon blaze. I'm embarrassing myself here!

Hey, thats a pretty good starting score! :) The scoring definitely comes in once you know how a stage is going to work. Its hard to cheese score on this one.

Oh, what ship were you using fvgazi?

Scores all updated!

I downloaded it right quick and gave it a few runs. I want to use the Shinden since I am fond of the actual plane, but it's too weak. :(

Here is what I did:

987,600 - Level 14 - Stage 3 - MAME

The next battle strike in The War Against Destiny (or how ExedExes learns to stop being shocked at other people's high scores and get out there and prove his damn self)

Image

ExedExes - 4,609,300 - Stage 6 - Mosquito - Level 22 - MAME

Watched that dude's videos, and even thought I didn't agree with all he did (in addition to that crazy rapid fire of his), I liked his stage 2 bomb-less strategy, but I used one anyway instead of the 2-3 which helps the score, I nailed the 100% accuracy on Stage 3 as well as S Ranks on Stages 1, 3, and 4 just like you Dun, and took down Sancho Pedro with an A Rank (and a hell of a lot of bombs used so my end of level bonus SUCKED)

I forgot how cool the last stage is (as well as the music!) Too bad I just about spazzed out there (like I do on 1-4 of Dragon Blaze)

But yeah, I got it in me, and I hope you all do too! Play this!

Nice work man! Yeah, the Shinden does seem to be the weakest ship sadly. Glad to see you playing this!

Damn! I thought my 3.9 would at least hold through the night. And you thought you couldn't take down my 1.8 just yesterday. Great work man! It must feel awesome to improve so much after playing this game for so long!

Yeah, I noticed he had some rapid fire going. Its definitely hard to replicate on the pcb without an autofire pad, thats for sure. I end up bombing most of the bosses twice, aside the first boss, which I only use 1 bomb for.

I was so close to taking down Sancho Pedro before he hit me with that instant purple laser. Didn't even know it was there till it hit me. Plus, it didnt help that I thought the boss fight was going to continue when I killed the first part of that little train, so I charged up a bomb and totally wasted it.

All scores updated, look forward to playing more of this tomorrow.

I never thought such a score or performance would be attainable in any shmup anytime aside from my namesake or Axelay, honestly. I just remembered all the experience I had playing it for real and playing it with continues on FB kind of memorizing everything. I so want to return to that last area, it is stage 6 and 7 but its almost like one stage. From 800,000 to 4.6M! I will never find an arcade shmup with such a delicate balance of difficulty as this one. It's not one of those that frustrates easy but it's also one that with practice you can always do better at it, and by bombing less and being more accurate, the sky's the limit with a score.

Sancho Pedro was a trip. I used one bomb on the first 2 forms then I died once and used 3 more. If you didn't tell me about the laser I would have forgotten about it, when he is on the ropes he isn't as threatening as before. I still think the Karbert Armor so far is probably the most difficult.

What a game, again it's rare for me to have such an experience with a game like this, one not of frustration, but of a constant drive to do and get better at it. 1cc is entirely obtainable -- 3 more ranks for an extend if I keep pushing, and I know you will continue to do so for me!

Dang EE / Chaz - y'all are killing it. Nicely done on both counts.

I have a bud over on KLOV (trying to get him to join us here...) in the interim, he provided this info, which i'll just copy/pastey:

19XX : The War Against Destiny
Change First Stage Music to 1942 BGM.
At the title screen after coin inserted move U, R x 9, D x 4, L x 2. A sound will be heard once code entered.

Change First Stage Music to 1942 BGM (average version).
At the title screen after coin inserted move U, D x 9, UL, DR, UR, DL, UL, DR, UR, DL. A sound will be heard once code entered.

Also, you can get the cab, art (Marquee, move strips, overlay, flyer, etc.) here: http://cps2shock.emu-france.info/gamelist.html

I think it was Shiden... the middle one. I forgot to look, lol.
Time to get some proper scoring in on this! I'm really enjoying this game. I've gotten A rankings on the first and second boss so far. How the hell do you get an S ranking? I can take down the first boss in like 8 seconds with a charged bomb.

Got to put a little more time into this tonight - my round 2 was horrible, died getting those medals from the big ship, died once on the boss, just terrible. Only went up 2 levels.

Ended up clearing the 3rd stage w/o dying and played really well - got an extend and made it to the stage 4 boss - had him just about down but came up just short. I like Lightning's ability to backtrack and get falling medals and his single loaded lazer shot is plenty powerful for most enemies.

mjmjr25 - 960,900 - Stage 4 (boss) - Lightning - Level 12 - Arcade

Woah, I somehow missed some posts in here. I have to go try out those codes!

Nice new score, I know you'll beat that tonight though. :)
