http://www.ngdevdirect.com/ These guys regularly make / release games for both the AES / MVS and Dreamcast. Since 09 they've released a brand new, fresh, never-before-seen, game every year it seems starting with Last Hope, then Fast Striker and now Gunlord.
http://www.redspotgames.com/shop/index. ... at&catId=1 These guys release / make games for the Dreamcast as well. Not to mention countless hobby / homebrewers who make their own programs / games for the DC.

Just a second printing of the game after the originals sold out? Or does the disc/art have "reprint" splashed all over it?Hope to have an answer soon.

Re: Gunlord confirmed for Dreamcast in December!
The reason it is done on Dreamcast, is cause homebrew development environments indipendant of the Sega produced Katana, or Microsoft made Windows CE for Dreamcast, exist for developers to legally make and distribute these game through online retailers.korn16ftl3 wrote:ok so seriously what are these games? who the hell made them? and how are they getting them re-released for DC? and another Q on top of thos who else has after death of the console relases on DC or any "dead" (i use the term dead in a production/support way)?BananaXX wrote:Makes sense. I shouldn't complain. I was kicking myself for not getting Fast Striker the first time and now I'm atleast getting a second opportunity. Also wanted to try Last Hope, hell all of their games I'd like to try
is there a community aside from racketboy to keep me posted on this i mean obviously this is all relatively underground kind of stuff as i have NEVER herd of a game being released on a un-suported system aside from a few NES repro's and eng translations
Since 1998, every year there has been at least 1 retail game for the Dreamcast released. Sega themselves supported the system up until 2007 in Japan.
Anyway, they can legally sale these indie games without persecution from Sega, and get away with it. Want to see how many companies there are still actively making commercial games for the Dreamcast?

You must not be very deep into the Dreamcast community if you haven't heard of them. Places like Kotaku and other sites always do news stories about what is always seen as the last potential Dreamcast game, so it is kinda a big thing when a new one comes out.
We already got a game coming out next year, so the cycle isn't broken. If a single year goes by without a new Dreamcast release, then you can start throwing around the words "Dead system".
With all the homebrew and emulator coders out there releasing something every few months, the Dreamcast will not be dead for some time to come friend.

Re: Gunlord confirmed for Dreamcast in December!
...now it will be shipping in June.
October 2011
November 2011
Late December 2011
Early March 2012
...and now
June 14, 2012
And i'm not sure what the point of pre-ordering is if:
A) They can't make their release date
B) They lower the price (I paid 69EUR, now it is 64EUR)? And it still doesn't ship for 3 months.
Unbelievable.

Shit, I didn't notice the price had gone down. Are they reimbursing those who ordered at full price?mjmjr25 wrote:.

This sounds suspiciously similar to the Ocean Marketing Group thing that came up on Penny Arcade a while back.dsheinem wrote:Shit, I didn't notice the price had gone down. Are they reimbursing those who ordered at full price?mjmjr25 wrote:.

Re: Gunlord confirmed for Dreamcast in December!
I've got an email out requesting the 5 EUR difference refunded (at a minimum, may just cancel at this point...if I can). I'll post here in either case...
Sturmwind - even better, rather than a "ship date", they are advertising a "won't ship by date." Says, "Won't ship before March 2012." Another pre-order I need to cancel :/

Re: Gunlord confirmed for Dreamcast in December!
Yes - not going to have much recourse beyond "bad publicity". Paypal refund protection disappeared months ago...
I'm guessing the folks who plunked 450EUR on the AES carts are probably a bit more nervous than us at this point.
