Silent Hill HD Collection Thread

I was fine with the box art for the SOTC HD collection too.

In what way is that comparable to box art for this? The box art for the SOTC collection was an awesome flip cover with the original art from both games. What we're getting here is a completely different story.

I just remember people complaining a lot about it. I didn't see much of a problem.

Our artwork isn't bad; just kinda "meh". Maybe they'll include an alternate cover on the inside? (They probably won't but I can still hope.)

The game is still 10 dollars cheaper on amazon than at gamestop... And no pre-order gamestop-exclusive bonuses so there's really no reason to be buying this at GS...

I still don't get it. The SOTC collection box art is just the exact same box art as the games in the collection. In fact, it even ditches the US box art for Ico that so many people complained about and uses the original artwork. I don't recall seeing any complaints and have no idea why there would be any...

But yeah, maybe I've been a bit harsh on the Silent Hill collection box art, but the smeared make up chick art is just too lame and tacky for me. The box art should be something that emphasizes the spirit of the game, something I feel the art they came up with fails to do. Then again, I haven't really liked any of the US Silent Hill box art aside from the first game. The original box art for Silent Hill 2 is so amazing.

I'm waiting to hear the new Silent Hill 3 voices.

...though I'll probably buy it even if I don't like them. Too bad i'm kinda broke right now.

I'll be grabbing it early next month. I plan on purchasing the HD Collection, Silent Hill: Book of Memories, and Silent Hill on Bluray and having a little bit of a Silent Hill marathon.

I've never played a silent hill game before but considering how much praise 2 gets I've been thinking about picking this collection up but I'm kind of on the fence though. Do you guys think I'll like it I mean I really have no idea what the game is about at all. Is it an issue that I've never played the first one? I guess I really just want someone to tell me why I should buy this game.

Here is the basic story intro- A man receives a letter from his wife who has been dead for 2 years. In the letter it states that she is waiting for him in Silent Hill (a town they have been to in the past). He travels to Silent Hill in hope of finding the truth behind the mysterious letter.

No, you don't need to play the first game. Other than the location they are not connected at all.

Why you should buy it: It's one of the most disturbing games ever made with a well-crafted, unforgettable story. And now that it's in HD on a console means you don't have to have a decent PC running to play it in 16:9 (with the highest amount of textures/lighting turned on).

My copy from Amazon should be arriving today but it may not get played for awhile since I just got Yakuza: Dead Souls and Tales of Graces f last week.
