Are you guys getting excited on the buzz surrounding Phantasy Star Online 2? Not to hit you guys in the wallet, but I might drop money on a PSVita now that they've announced PSO2 for it. Who knows if we'll even receive an English version, (I'm guessing a lot of the community understands Japanese through their imports) but all the same I'm hoping this game remains true to the game I fell in love with.
Has anyone here been involved with the alpha testing of this game? What are your impressions on what you've played, read, or watched?

Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
definitely looking forward to the first proper sequel to PSO.. played that on Dreamast waay too much when that came out, but have some really fond memories for that game. Played PSU a bit, but never quite grabbed me the same way. Yeah i'll have a while yet to decide if I want to sink money into a Vita or a new gaming PC - but looks like the game is still a far way off.

I'm busting at the seams! I too am strongly considering a Vita now. All the Alpha testing impressions I've read seem to mirror a real sense of success for this entry. Don't screw this up Sega!
...Fingers crossed Mags return in the way PSO 'phanatics' remember them.

Valgalder: I enjoyed PSU for the a brief time. The story was okay; online I just felt overwhelmed. Between the leveling of skills, synthesizing, White Beast runs, and being a year behind to the JP version, I felt like it didn't have the same effect PSO had on me.
s1mplehumar: I really really hope they develop a North American version. I'll drop cash on a Vita if they do, and a gaming rig so I can play on PC. But yes, we need to have the same system of Mags for PSO2. I'll be sure to have my Mag feeding timer ready.

I am VERY excited about the game, yet i don't think it is enough to get a Vita
loved the original on the DC and played for hours like others here and wish they brought it out on the PS3 or 360

It's time to kick a$$ and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of gum.

I don't even like MMOs but this is one that I may consider getting into! Its looking pretty good.
Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
I'm a bit irritated that its coming to the Vita and not a console, though I suppose I can understand wanting players to carry their addiction around with them.
I'll be buying the PC version anyway.

I've pretty much sworn off of MMOs nowadays, but I will make an exception for this. Loved the original PSO, and am more than happy to have a sequel.
Re: Phantasy Star Online 2
If I wasn't building a new computer I would seriously consider buying a Vita for this game alone. I kind of wish the art style was more reminiscent of the original (not a fan of the enormous swords replacing the simple and sleek sabers), but that's nothing to seriously complain about. As long as we get mags back it'll be cool.

Will this have a single-player offline mode?
This sounds cool and all.... but I am still wondering, where is Phantasy Star V?!
