If you compare it to the arcade version, Growl on the Genesis is kind of a crappy port. It probably would have fared better on the SNES, like most arcade ports back then did. Still, it's a decent beat 'em up on a console that didn't have many to brag about besides the Streets of Rage games, and it was a Genesis exclusive. It has at least some of what made the arcade game cool. There's the whole Beastmaster thing as you see animals helping you out throughout the game(see the awesome deer stampede above), and it still has some of the arcade game's absurdity, like seeing a giant elephant save you from a tank! Like the arcade game, this version will also throw an absurd number of enemies at you. Plus, you can literally blow people to bits with a rocket launcher!

Still, if you wanna see this game at its best, fire up Mame. You can also try Taito Legends 2, but they did some censoring on that version. I f**ing hate when people censor games! Sorry, had to say that

#103: Vapor Trail: I always thought this was an underrated Genesis shooter. Surprisingly, its fairly accurate to the arcade game too, with a sweet arranged soundtrack (The music is so good!)
