I gave up Cheese for lent, and I'm really struggling to come up with interesting things to eat for lunch now, especially as I don't eat red meat or poultry. I'm so sick of eggs and tuna in things

I feel your pain, and I may be able to help. I gave up meat and a few other things for lent, and I already have a few new favorite recipes that are quick (if you don't count the time it takes the water to boil or preheat the oven) and cheap. Most recipes include pasta.alienjesus wrote:I gave up Cheese for lent, and I'm really struggling to come up with interesting things to eat for lunch now, especially as I don't eat red meat or poultry. If you are interested I'll be happy to send you recipes for:
Spaghetti Squash and Black Bean Tacos with Chipotle Salsa
Penne with Creamy Mushroom Trio Sauce (or if you want to sound snobby you can call it "Penne con creme' de funghi trifolatti")
Angrezi Bhutta (It's like a Thai/Indian Gazpacho)
Primavera Salad with Honey Vinaigrette
Crispy Tofu with Kale and Chiles
... What foods do you like to eat? I'm sure I'll have suggestions.

He could actually make a pizza with a roasted garlic bechamel sauce. It would be way better with Fontina, but it could be worth a shot.

If you could post these recipes in the What are you eating thread, it would be awesome.Luke wrote: If you are interested I'll be happy to send you recipes for:

I like the sound of all of those, go for it. I eat pretty much everything outside of meat and poultry (I eat seafood still) so I'm pretty open to any vegetarian or seafood recipes.Luke wrote:I feel your pain, and I may be able to help. To be fair, I haven't been too strict on myself, if something already has cheese on it I won't go out of my way to avoid it. I've not been adding cheese to anything, or making anything with cheese in it though. I kinda felt like it was in everything I ate.BoringSupreez wrote: How about pizza? Oh, wait...

For sure. I'm taking a quick break from yard work, so please give me an hour or two to post the recipes.gtmtnbiker wrote:If you could post these recipes in the What are you eating thread, it would be awesome.Luke wrote: If you are interested I'll be happy to send you recipes for:

And as far as lent goes, I made a pasta that used chicken stock and it never registered to me that I was breaking lent by eating "meat".

So I found out Netflix added last year's season of Doctor Who about a month ago last night. Just finished the season finale- holy crap that was epic. Why does American television suck so much in comparison?

Because American television is aimed primarily at women 40 and older. That's the largest audience these days. Young people, especially males, have turned away from TV and to the internet for entertainment for the past 5-10 years.GameMasterGuy wrote:So I found out Netflix added last year's season of Doctor Who about a month ago last night. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
