my thoughts from a few years ago:

Assassin's Creed is one long ass game. It is also repetitive and, at times, clunky and inaccurate. But, it is beautiful and has moments of wonder and intrigue, so I persevered. I am excited to give AC2 a shot in the future as I heard it is much improved over 1. If they addressed the shortcomings this one had, it may indeed be a great game.

so yeah, it is decent if a bit frustrating at times...

alright. i bought it because i am really interested in games set in different time periods now and trying to stray away from the basic fps but still play them from time to time.

One of the most repetitive and tedious games I've played this gen. I completely loathed it, but loved 2 and Brotherhood.

As others have mentioned it's repetitive but I still enjoyed it despite the shortcomings.

Hey guys is Assassin's Creed any good?

I thought this game was great when it came out. Repetitive gets thrown around a lot, but it didn't bother me, I did every side mission and found every flag, I loved the way combat worked in this version too. I really enjoyed it.

I had picked it up day one, I was so excited after seeing all the videos and reading up on it. When i finally got to play it, it was like nothing I had played before, but as you went on, it was just the same thing over and over, Listen to a conversation, pick pocket someone, sit on a bench, kill the target, rinse and repeat.

I lost interest very quickly and never finished, I can say that the second one was a huge improvement, and the best place to start the series, just catch up on the story like someone said on wiki.

I found Assassin's Creed tedious, and the combat system unintuitive. Brotherhood was different, though. The combat is way better (I'd say it's almost as good as Batman Arkham Asylum/City's).

I also didn't bother too much with the story. I just read the wiki, IMO the story started out interesting, but over time it seemed like they were just adding in stuff to prolong the franchise.

I spent most of my game time in Brotherhood just doing random missions and running around town getting into fights with the authority. Also, I loved exploring.
