Japan only PS2 recommendations?

I've been living in Japan for a while now but it wasn't until recently that I picked up a PSX. I bought Shadow of the Colossus but that only lasts so long after beating it so many times. Does anybody have any recommendations for PS1/PS2 games that were only released in Japan? I'm not really interested in Gundam games or RPGS. Thanks!

If you can afford it and a controller, the Beatmania IIDX is a great series of rhythm games.

There's also a remake of NiGHTS into Dreams.

I've seen beatmania numorous times in stores for $10 with controller and I have heard that the Japanese version is much better than the American so maybe I'll give that a shot. I didn't know about the Nights remake! I'll be sure to look for that. Thanks!

There is also a Saturn emulated version right in the PS2 disc. The PS2 version has improved graphics and is faithful to the original Saturn. I prefer Wii Nights Journey Of Dreams, less running around looking for the bird cage. No more getting knocked out of the sky, you stay flying as Nights until you die and the graphics are just pure art! I am hoping one of these has an unlock for Christmas Nights, not the date stamp but the full levels.

Look into the Sega Ages series, Virtua On and Fantasy Zone come to mind. The U.S. has one disc with a mix of some of the remakes including Space Harrier, but the individual Japan releases has extra features. The Hardcore Gaming Site has a full breakdown reviewing each game.

The 4 Cave shooters are well worth checking out (Ibara, Mushi, espgaluda, and ddp doj)

Also, Dragon Blaze/Sol Divide 2 pack is nice, then you could join our competition.
