I picked up Tales of the Abyss for 3DS. I have put in about 6 or 7 hours with it, and while there are several things I really like about it, there are some rather irritating things I dislike.
Chief among them are the somewhat uninspired job they did in porting over the graphics, and a lack of putting in any effort to add any 3DS specific features. It is a 100% straight up port, for good or bad.
I have never played a Tales game other than that one, so I can't say whether the story is better or worse than any other Tales, but it's not terribly engaging IMO.
I will probably get back to it at some point, but I'm not feeling like hurrying to do so.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Just tried out the Rhythm Thief demo that just came out in Europe. It seems pretty fun from the 3 missions I got to try. I wonder how long or difficult it'll be and how much variety it'll offer, but first impressions are positive at least.

Has anyone paid attention to see how long the battery lasts in sleep mode? It feels like everytime I put it in my bag in sleep mode (for street pass) it's dead when I go to play it later in the day.

Wow, I have gone several days in sleep mode before and still had over half of my battery life left upon opening it up. That's bizarre!rimjet wrote:Has anyone paid attention to see how long the battery lasts in sleep mode? Street Pass drains the battery faster because of the active wireless communications.ksloth wrote:Wow, I have gone several days in sleep mode before and still had over half of my battery life left upon opening it up. That said, my 3DS still lasts pretty much all day in sleep mode, even with lots of streetpass hits.MrPopo wrote:Street Pass drains the battery faster because of the active wireless communications.ksloth wrote:Wow, I have gone several days in sleep mode before and still had over half of my battery life left upon opening it up. Re: Nintendo 3DS
It's got to be the street pass then. I mean, it's still weird, but I don't think I've had it long enough for the battery to be compromised.
Re: Nintendo 3DS
Is there any legitimate reason for StreetPass? It seems like a gimmick to me.

You get extra miis to help you accomplish those free Mii games, other than that i dont really see any other reasons for it.
I wouldnt know my launch 3DS still yet to get a single street pass.
