You need to play less CoD and more Quake

Now really, if we refer strictly to shooting games in first person, as opposed to stealth games, there's a good rule of thumb: The faster you can kill the opponent, the slower the game is and the less focused it's on deathmatch and area control compared to ambushing and approaching.

Anyways, Shenmue in HD? Sorry, but it's hard to believe a company is going to make a remake of Shenmue of all games, spend a lot of money on it, and then don't release it.

You guys need to stop the stupid comparison of Shenmue to COD. They are completely different games from different times in gaming. Its the same as saying that Assassins Creed is better than Sega Rally, you are trying to compare apples to frozen TV dinners ie: you can't reasonably compare them, and any comments said either way come off as being fanboys for either camp.

If they are making an HD re-release I would gladly buy it to show my support for SEGA.

You mean Sammy?

Sega isn't Sega anymore.

I'm not trying to draw any comparisons. I'm just telling how I feel about the gaming community in general that most would jump and buy COD w/o giving a second thought. It's like that's all they play or it's the top genre in their list. Shenmue is a game and it has more gameplay than you think or at least more than Asura's Wrath. Some of us would also agree that Shenmue feels a lot like an rpg.

I would probably buy this. If they controls were changed for the better, then I'd even play it! :P

Seriously though, I can't help but to support Sega when they release stuff. I have quite a lot of their PSN stuff, and even bought an EU PSN card just to get Outrun Online HD when it was still available. I do love Shenmue, but would definitely need to set aside some time I don't have to play it, then the sequel, then even more time for grieving when I realize that I STILL won't get to see how the story goes on after the cliffhanger at the end of Shenmue II.

It's about the instant gratification with games like CoD. You push a button and some dude dies in a hail of bullets. Push another one and something explodes. Push a button while playing Shenmue, and not much happens at all. I'll admit, I was bored as hell playing the original Shenmue, but I would be willing to give it another shot if they rerelease it. I'm starting to appreciate the slower paced games as I get older.

Except for turn based. I don't have the patience or attention span for that mess.

The Silent Hill HD collection has me worried now. If this does happen lets hope the remaster is actually good, lol.
