Generally bad design, the world's shittiest D-Pad, terrible battery life, etc... etc... they were just plain awful.

my only experience with wireless controlers is the DS3. but since I like the PS controller best and the DS3 seems just like my old DS for the PS I can't find any fault with it.

if you can't change the batterys on it now somebody will make a kit to do it and sell it on ebay.
Ocelot, did it again...sorry Boss !

Not the wavebird
Not the Dual Shock 3

No, it´s the sixaxis!
It´s lighter than the DS3 and the battery lasts longer.
I actually have a wavebird and it´s fantastic for GC and wii, just that the d-pad kind of small.
Great to see wavebird love here.

An old thread, but I'll try to breathe some new life into it with a question. Lately I've been getting into playing my PS2 a lot and now I noticed that the left analog stick on my wireless controler is getting a bit glitchy. Sometimes it'll go left without any input and sometimes it'll continue going forward after I've released the stick. Quite anoying, no matter what type of game you're playing. I've opened it up but can't seem to get to the analog sticks without taking it apart sompletely, something I'm not willing to do because I'm not realy savvy when it comes to electronics.

To cut a long story short: I'm going to start looking for a new wireless controler. I can't seem to find any original PS2 wireless controlers (have they ever existed?), which is a shame because I really like the feel of the DS2 (I have a 'wired' one). The wireless one I have is a Gametech, which I like quite a lot although the feeling and feedback of the analog sticks isn't quite as good as on the DS2.

My question: which controlers can you recommend and where can I get them? Two important things to know: I live in Sweden, but on-line shopping is no problem (don't know if there is a compatibility issue between US and European hardware?). The other thing is that I like the shape and feel of the DS2, so I'd like to get a controler that has the same shape if possible.

Thanks for the help!

I have this one, not many know about it, but it was officially licensed and everything. GREAT controller.

As a GameCube fanboy, I have to side with the spectacular Wavebird. Amazing battery life, design that remains true to the original controller, and great for LAN parties/system link play because of the 16 wireless channels.

To answer your question, the LOGITECH PS2 Wireless controller is very very solid - on par performance wise w/the wavebirds.

If you can find new, that is great - used should be fine, just verify the reciever is included of course and it is fully functioning.

At EE, ummm, I like you...but that Konami controller is crap. You have to be w/in like 12' and point in the vicinity of the receiver.

I have an extensive thread somewhere on SNES wireless controllers - but am not finding it. For SNES, you want the Messiah Wireless pads - Amazing.

Second best (but far from Messiahs) are the Doc's Wireless.

The Konami were on par w/the Dual Akklaims - which were one hot mess.

weird I'm the opposite. I think the sixaxis is way to light to the point that it feels flimsy. I don't care about rumble I just think the ds3 feels better. My girlfriend just bought me a pink one actually the other day they feel so nice before they get broken in.
