Pandora vs Last.FM vs Satellite vs FM Radio

Post by racketboy »

What do you use for listening to semi-random music?

I'm a Pandora person.
I hear of a lot of Last.FM lovers, but unless I'm missing something, the interface on Pandora seems to work better for me...

Hey another Shuffle owner!
Yeah, I use my iPod most, but sometimes I need stuff I don't have in my collection.

well, no, i just use the shuffle feature on my nano. but yeah.

pandora is nice for cleaning my apartment and stuff though. i also like the interface better than last.fm, which seems to be more about the social aspect than pandora.

I used to use Pandora a lot when I worked at WPI. But from what I can tell they've really changed their whole format since then. Now a days I have my server here at home with a couple 100 gigs of music and I can carry my 80gig Ipod around, I don't see myself running out of any music any time soon.

Sirius Satellite Radio is the greatest in my opinion. Great stations with no commercials for the music stations and they do a great job varying the music. Not too many repeats unlike FM. I have used Pandora, it's great but I prefer because I've discovered a lot of bands through it and the dj's actually provide notable news from time to time which is cool.
